The Colorado Buffaloes’ upcoming game against the Oklahoma State Cowboys this Friday won’t be the last time quarterback Shedeur Sanders and cornerback/wide receiver Travis Hunter suit up for the team.
Given both will enter the 2025 NFL Draft, the general norm has seen many college football players pass on bowl games in order to prepare for the draft. Only those players stay with their teams after the regular season if they are in contention for a championship.
Colorado, however, who is 8-3, is hanging onto very slim chances of reaching the College Football Playoff. Additionally, in a muddled conference, they stand an outside chance of still making the Big 12 Championship Game. If not, the Buffaloes will likely play in the Alamo or Holiday Bowl.
Deion Sanders Affirms Availability of Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter Beyond Week 14
In Tuesday’s press conference, head coach Deion Sanders confirmed that Colorado’s Week 14 game against Oklahoma State won’t be the last time either Hunter or Shedeur suit up for a college game. Whatever follows, Coach Prime expects them to play.
“We’re going to go to a bowl game and end this thing on the right note,” Coach Prime said on Tuesday. “No, we got a bowl game. It’s not the last time you’re going to see them in a Buff uniform.”
Coach Prime says this weekend will not be the last game for Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders in a Colorado uniform.

Coach Prime Shares Feelings on What Final Game With Shedeur and Hunter Will Be Like
The journey of Deion Sanders with his sons, Shedeur and Shilo, as well as two-way star Hunter is potentially in its final stretch.
In just one season, the trio of Deion, Shedeur, and Hunter has turned around the program. After a disappointing 4-8 campaign last season, the Buffaloes brought smiles back with an incredible season, securing bowl eligibility for the first time since 2016.
Talking about that final walk, which is nearing, the elder Sanders said:
“I don’t know. I’ve never had that feeling yet. I don’t know how we’re going to handle that or what the emotions will be. That last walk may be something to behold. I’m not focused on my last hoorah with my kids; I’m focused on my last game with my team.”
Shedeur Sanders and Hunter are expected to be first-round picks in the 2025 NFL Draft, while Coach Prime expects to stay behind and continue to develop the next class of young men in Boulder.
