New York Jets wide receiver Davante Adams made his stance clear on his former teammate Jordan Love's season with the Green Bay Packers.

Davante Adams and Jordan Love were together for two years with the Green Bay Packers. The wide receiver is now with the New York Jets, while Love is spearheading one of the most potent offenses in the NFL.

In an interview with Kay Adams, the veteran WR revealed that his former teammate impressed him with on-field performances.

Davante Adams Is in Awe of Year Jordan Love Is Having With Packers

Love was drafted by the Packers in 2020 to be Aaron Rodgers’ understudy. Adams, however, did not stick around long enough to see the youngster blossoming into a fine quarterback. Nevertheless, he has been watching Love from a distance and is in awe of the 26-year-old.

While appearing on “Up & Adams,” the Jets’ receiver was asked about Love’s growth this year.

“Well, just how poised he is,” said Adams. “He’s just the calmest quarterback in the league. You don’t see him get too frustrated, you know, guy drops a ball, or give up a sack, or he throws a pick on himself and makes a mistake.

“You just see him just kind of real chill and cool, calm, and collected, go back, look at the iPad, and go out there and turn it around.

“It’s good to watch him and see his growth,” Adams said in praise of Love while ending the segment.

This season, Love has thrown for 2,244 yards in nine games and 18 touchdowns. He has also been intercepted 11 times.

Former Jets HC Wants Further Improvement From Love

While fans and pundits alike have been praising Love since he took over the position left by Rodgers, not all of them are in unison. Former Jets head coach Rex Ryan, during his appearance on ESPN’s “Get Up,” highlighted the reasons why Love cannot be considered the best.

“He’s got a skill set that he could be one of the best quarterbacks in this league. However, he’s also got this reckless side. And I think that’s why I don’t put him in the top two, you know, with Detroit, with Philadelphia,” said the former HC.

Ryan also highlighted the issue of turnovers with Love’s game that makes him inconsistent. Love will look to leave those issues behind as he faces off against the Miami Dolphins on Thanksgiving Night.

Pro Football Network recently released their updated season-long quarterback rankings. Love is currently sitting at 20th overall, with a C grade on the year.

“Over the past four weeks, Jordan Love ranks 24th in QB+, but he has dealt with injury issues in two of his three games in that time period. Given he was facing a good defense last week, Love’s B- grade was a promising sign and suggested he might be back close to full health. Now, he just needs to stay that way.

Love’s statistics have somewhat of a reverse split. He ranks just inside the top 10 when under pressure but down inside the bottom 15 when playing from a clean pocket. He also has mixed efficiency stats, ranking fifth in nYPA (7.9) but fourth-from-bottom converting on third downs (28.4%). All of this could be down to the fact he does not have a true WR1 and rather a collection of multiple WR2s and WR3s.”
