Thanksgiving lunch comes with a side of the Chicago Bears visiting the NFC-leading Detroit Lions in the first game of the holiday.
Using DraftKings’ prices, here’s a winning DFS lineup to serve while you prep the turkey for dinner.
Week 13 Bears-Lions DFS Picks
- CAPTAIN: Jameson Williams ($12,300)
- FLEX: Jahmyr Gibbs ($9,600)
- FLEX: Caleb Williams ($9,000)
- FLEX: David Montgomery ($8,600)
- FLEX: Rome Odunze ($6,600)
- FLEX: Cole Kmet ($3,600)
DFS Strategy: Captain Jameson Williams
Jameson Williams earns the captain designation in this lineup, giving him 1.5 times the points at the same elevated level of salary. As the fourth-most-expensive captain option, Williams is a bargain given that he can make your whole lineup.
The Lions’ WR2 is a strong boom-or-bust option for daily fantasy, as he’ll have a lower roster percentage than the elite wideouts but can easily finish as the WR1 overall on the day with his explosiveness.
The Bears actually allow the third-highest explosive pass rate this season, ahead of only the hapless Jacksonville Jaguars and Cleveland Browns. That plays right into the hands of Williams, who ranks second in the NFL with 20.8 yards per reception.
DFS Strategy: Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery
Jahmyr Gibbs is worth including given the Chicago Bears’ relative weakness against running backs. The Bears rank 19th in PPR points per game allowed to RBs, their worst against any position. Gibbs has scored in five of his past six games, and is the safer option among Lions running backs to choose given that David Montgomery is nursing a shoulder injury he suffered in Week 12.
As for the other half of Sonic and Knuckles, Montgomery was an estimated non-participant in practice this week with the ailing shoulder but should be good to go. Indeed, head coach Dan Campbell mentioned that he could have re-entered Sunday’s game if needed, but that he was held out due to the short week. Gibbs and Montgomery have scored in the same game five times this season, so there’s absolutely room for both in your DFS lineup.
DFS Strategy: Caleb Williams, Rome Odunze, and Cole Kmet
The game script should require a lot of passes for Chicago, so it’s worth buying into their passing game. Partially because they typically play from ahead and force opposing teams to pass so much, the Lions only rank 21st in PPR points per game allowed to wide receivers.
Caleb Williams is the cheaper of the two quarterback options in this contest, but he should see considerably more volume than Jared Goff.
The rookie has also been unlocked as a runner under interim offensive coordinator Thomas Brown, rushing 15 times for 103 yards the last two weeks. His scramble rate overall is up from 6.5% the first 10 weeks to 10.8% the last two weeks, which would rank third over the course of a full season behind Jayden Daniels and Drake Maye.
In addition, Rome Odunze remains the cheapest of the three Bears wide receivers despite seeing a welcome uptick in volume. In two games under Brown, Odunze has seen 20 targets and caught 11 passes for 104 yards. The fantasy production hasn’t been there just yet, but the volume is elite, so bank on that positive regression hitting soon.
Finally, Cole Kmet is a cheap option to round out your lineup and has gotten steady playing time under Brown.
In the last two weeks, Kmet has played 98.6% of the snaps, a huge uptick from his already healthy 80.7% participation rate the first 10 weeks. Last week, he saw 10 targets, catching seven passes for 64 yards.
