Giants vs. Cowboys Week 13 Recap

The Giants started their third quarterback in as many weeks, with Drew Lock going on a short week versus the Dallas Cowboys after Tommy DeVito suffered a forearm injury in Week 12.

Lock’s turn as the starter didn’t go any better. The veteran quarterback took six sacks and turned the ball over twice, including an extremely damaging pick-six on a screen pass that put the Cowboys in front.

Even with a pair of rushing touchdowns, Lock led an offense that produced -0.27 EPA per play, the Giants’ third-worst in a game this season. New York also became the first team to fall to Dallas at AT&T Stadium, as the Cowboys had started 0-5 at home.

New York is running out of winnable games, particularly given the state of its offense and Dexter Lawrence II’s elbow injury suffered in the Thanksgiving loss. The Giants will almost certainly be underdogs in their final five games, with home games against the Saints and Colts being the only contests where they might not be massive underdogs.

Frankly, the Giants’ most winnable remaining game might be in Week 18 if the Philadelphia Eagles are locked into a playoff seed and choose to rest starters. Otherwise, former teammate Saquon Barkley will likely deliver one last indignity to close out the Giants’ miserable season.
