Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons details his surprising pick for this season's Heisman Trophy award.

Dallas Cowboys star linebacker Micah Parsons has revealed his vote for the 2025 Heisman Trophy. In a social media post to X (formerly known as Twitter), Parsons gave his support to Boise State Broncos running back Ashton Jeanty instead of the strong favorite, Colorado Buffaloes wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter.

While both men have had phenomenal college football seasons, the consensus among experts was that Hunter was most likely the favorite for the prestigious trophy and possibly be selected No. 1 overall in the 2025 NFL Draft. Nevertheless, it’s clear that Parsons believes the football community should be putting more respect and attention on Jeanty.

What Did Micah Parsons Say in Social Media Post Regarding Heisman Trophy?

Early Monday morning, Parsons responded to a popular college football account on social media highlighting Jeanty. The original post detailed how Jeanty, Barry Sanders, and Ricky Williams are the only running backs in college football with over 2,000 yards and 25 touchdowns through 11 weeks.

In response to this post, Parsons made clear his vote for the Heisman and shut down all buzz surrounding the dual-threat favorite Hunter.

“We shouldn’t even be discussing the heisman !!! Ashton Jeanty is the heisman winner!!”, Parsons stated.

Who Deserves the Heisman Trophy: Travis Hunter or Ashton Jeanty?

The current Heisman favorite Hunter boasts a unique blend of offensive and defensive capabilities, having the ability to play receiver as well as cornerback. Hunter’s elite speed and strong hands add to his elite defensive footwork, contributing to his rare blend of skills.

According to Pro Football Network’s Dalton Miller’s Top 100 Big Board, Hunter is the projected No. 1 pick in next season’s draft.

On the campaign, Hunter has 82 catches for 1,036 yards and 11 touchdowns, while adding one forced fumble and three interceptions defensively.

On the other side of the debate, Jeanty is the ultimate running back. He has elite speed, terrific hands, and extreme explosiveness both as a runner and a pass catcher. According to Miller, Jeanty is projected as the No. 5 overall selection in the 2025 NFL Draft.

This season, Jeanty has video game-like numbers and statistics. He’s rushed for 2,062 yards on the ground, scoring 27 touchdowns and averaging a whopping 7.5 yards per carry. Through the air, Jeanty has 18 receptions for 102 yards and another touchdown to add to his total.

As is clear, both men are having standout CFB campaigns and have the ability to make an instant impact at the professional level next season. Nevertheless, Parsons has made it clear who his favorite is for college football’s most coveted award.
