‘That’s Gonna Light That Fire Up Under His A**’ — Cam Newton Proposes Solution for Jets Amid Aaron Rodgers’ Uncertain Future

Cam Newton suggests the Jets draft a QB to challenge Aaron Rodgers and reignite his fire, drawing parallels to Rodgers' Jordan Love era.

Looks like Cam Newton’s got a playbook for the New York Jets, and it’s not just Xs and Os — it’s himself. With Aaron Rodgers still finding his groove this season, the Jets are stuck in QB limbo, and Newton’s got a solution.

Could the former MVP and style icon be the lifeline Gang Green needs, or is this just another chapter in Newton’s bold headline game? One thing’s for sure … the man knows how to keep the NFL world buzzing.

Cam Newton’s Plan To Push Rodgers Back to MVP Form

Newton didn’t mince words when dishing out advice for the Jets. On the “4th&1” podcast. the former MVP proposed a bold plan to address the Jets’ QB struggles: draft a young QB to challenge Rodgers and reignite his fire.

“Draft another d**n quarterback,” Newton asserted confidently. “That’s gonna light that fire up under his a** no matter how old he is.”

Newton drew parallels to Rodgers’ past. Remember when the Green Bay Packers drafted Jordan Love in 2020? Rodgers reportedly wasn’t cool with that pick, and then he proceded to dominate the NFL, clinching back-to-back MVPs (2020, 2021). Newton suggested the Jets take a similar approach, using competition as fuel for the veteran QB.

“They’re not going to trade for a quarterback,” Newton explained. “They’re going to draft a quarterback; keep Aaron Rodgers as the starter, allow him to develop the quarterback, and when it’s his time … and maybe, just maybe, with the competitor that we think, and we possibly do know, Aaron Rodgers to be, he’ll be, ‘Oh, bulls**t.’ Because it happened one time already, and Aaron Rogers said … ‘Not today!”

Newton believes this strategy could benefit both sides. A talented rookie could be groomed under Rodgers’ tutelage, while the Super Bowl champ gets a reminder that his job isn’t guaranteed. After all, Rodgers thrived when the Packers tested his throne with Love, and Newton sees history repeating itself with the Jets.

The Jets face a defining moment with their franchise. Newton’s fiery take gives fans something to debate — and Rodgers something to think about.

Newton Reflects on Strained Ties With Panthers

Newton’s ties with the Carolina Panthers seem to be missing a key connection. Speaking on the “4th&1” podcast, he revealed the team declined his offer to host a Funky Friday podcast with Panthers legends. The MVP-winning QB also noted his absence from team events and mentioned his picture isn’t displayed in the main area of the Panthers’ facility.

“I don’t have any quarrel with David Tepper or anyone else,” Newton clarified, adding that any mending needed is mutual. “It takes two to tango — they’ve got my number.”

Newton’s producer, Omari Collins, suggested unresolved relationships might be behind the hesitation. Newton, however, seemed puzzled, saying he wasn’t aware of any issues needing resolution.

Newton spent a decade with the Panthers, earning three Pro Bowls, an MVP (2015), and leading the team to Super Bowl 50. While his Panthers legacy is undeniable, the current relationship clearly needs work.
