‘This Dysfunction Stems From Him’ – NFL Analyst Names Biggest Culprit Between Aaron Rodgers and Woody Johnson for Jets Mess

    Published on

Woody Johnson and not Aaron Rodgers should take the blame for the Jets' terrible season on his shoulders suggests one NFL QB-turned-analyst.

Aaron Rodgers failed to reach his objective of taking the New York Jets to the playoffs after 13 years. The quarterback has been subjected to a ton of criticism in the wake of the Jets’ disastrous season.

However, former NFL QB Chase Daniel has another person in his crosshairs. It’s none other than the franchise owner Woody Johnson.

Chase Daniel Absolves Aaron Rodgers, but Woody Johnson Is Under Fire

Johnson purchased the Jets in 2000 for $635 million. Under his tenure, they have won the AFC East division only once and made the playoffs only six times. During Daniel’s appearance on FS1’s The Facility, the former QB dug into Johnson’s mismanagement.

“No [it’s not Aaron Rodgers’ fault],” said Daniel on the show. “In fact, I’d say very little of it is. This season will be the 14th straight season that the Jets have missed the playoffs. It’s the longest drought in all North American sports.”

“How many games has Rodgers played? 12. And you’re missing 14 straight seasons. The problem with me is Big Woody. This dysfunction stems from him.”

“Stop interfering with how your franchise is run. You hire people to do that for you. You are not a GM. You are not a head coach. Yes, you have the money. You hire those guys. Quit interfering. So, it does not start with Aaron Rodgers. It starts and ends with Woody Johnson,” he added.

Rodgers Set To Replicate Brett Favre’s Path?

Former Green Bay Packers QB Brett Favre mentored Rodgers for three seasons. The retired QB spent 16 seasons in Green Bay and then joined the Jets for a season. A-Rod spent 18 seasons with the Packers before joining the Jets.

And according to an ESPN reporter, Rodgers could follow Favre’s path once again. “Vikings have one QB under contract for 2025 and he has never played a down of regular-season NFL football. It’s happening,” tweeted Kevin Seifert.

After his stint with the Jets, Favre joined the Packers’ NFC North rivals, the Minnesota Vikings, for two seasons. With the Jets aiming for a rebuild in 2025, Rodgers will very likely need a new team — and it could be the Vikings.
