The New York Jets got rid of GM Joe Douglas merely six weeks after firing Robert Saleh as the fans begin to ask about Aaron Rodgers' status.

Recruiting Aaron Rodgers to end the New York Jets’ 13-year playoff chase hasn’t turned out as planned. Instead, the franchise is imploding within a season.

Merely six weeks after firing head coach Robert Saleh, Jets general manager Joe Douglas has also been sacked. However, fans wonder whether Rodgers will get the same treatment or not.

Fans Want Aaron Rodgers Axed After Joe Douglas Firing

Douglas’ run as the GM of the Jets ended in his fifth season. As soon as the news of the Jets parting ways with Douglas hit the internet, fans couldn’t believe themselves. With a record of 3-8, many expressed their views on X (formerly known as Twitter) that Rodgers should be next in line.

“When will Aaron Rodgers get fired?” tweeted a fan.

“Aaron Rodgers trying to fire everyone to figure out why the Jets keep losing,” responded one fan.

“Everyone but the problem is getting fired lmao,” added one fan.

“They’re getting rid of everyone except the actual problem,” one fan replied.

“Aaron LeBron Rodgers taking over as temporary GM,” another fan added.

“Rodgers getting everybody fired. Yikes,” tweeted a fan.

The Jets have gone through a lot in a couple of seasons since Rodgers arrived in East Rutherford, N.J.; however, NFL insider Dianna Russini argues that this era might be coming to an end on “The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz.”

“The New York Jets signed up for an MVP-caliber quarterback. They did not get an MVP-caliber quarterback. … I don’t think it’s a lock that these guys come back together next year,” she said.

The four-time NFL MVP has registered 2,442 yards for 17 touchdowns while being intercepted seven times this season. Rodgers has operated at an average of 6.4 yards per pass attempt, which is his worst since he became the starter in 2008 for the Green Bay Packers.

The 10-time Pro Bowler enjoys a bye week this weekend and will be in action on Dec. 1 against the Seattle Seahawks.
