‘Fire John Harbaugh Please’: Ravens HC Gets Flamed by Fans for Disaster vs. Steelers

    Published on

Fans went after head coach John Harbaugh for a questionable call on a failed two-point attempt that resulted in the Ravens' loss to the Steelers.

John Harbaugh and the Baltimore Ravens lost 18-16 to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 11. This was the Ravens’ fourth loss of the season, and it was very disappointing, as their defense allowed no touchdowns against an in-form Steelers offense.

Lamar Jackson is now 2-5 in his career against Pittsburgh, and once again, he did not have a good game against them. However, the Ravens quarterback did give the team a chance to tie the game late in the fourth quarter, but he failed to convert a two-point attempt.

Baltimore decided to run the ball with Jackson on the two-point attempt while Derrick Herny was on the sidelines. This decision cost them the game, and the Ravens’ fans were unhappy with Harbaugh’s decision.

Fans Blamed John Harbaugh for Loss vs. Steelers

Here’s how the Ravens fans on social media reacted after the loss to the Steelers:

“John Harbaugh can’t win the games that matter anymore,” said one fan.

Another fan added, “John Harbaugh must have a tape or something on Steve Bisciotti. Ain’t no way he would still be coaching after 3 playoff wins in 12 seasons and losing 8/9 against the biggest rival, under any other owner.”

“Somebody needs to start calling out John Harbaugh. He never has this team ready to play when it matters,” wrote one Ravens fan.

Harbaugh is now 4-11 against the Steelers in the last 15 fixtures and is 1-5 against the Kansas City Chiefs, including the playoffs since Jackson got drafted. The team is continuously losing big games, and it is a growing concern among the fans.

The Ravens head coach is in his 17th season in Baltimore and has a record of 167-103. He is 12-10 in the playoffs, with their lone Super Bowl appearance coming in 2012. Baltimore has one of the best rosters in the league, led by a future Hall of Fame quarterback in Jackson, but it doesn’t matter as long as Harbaugh gets outcoached by the likes of Andy Reid and Mike Tomlin.

Lamar Jackson’s MVP Case Has Taken a Big Hit

Coming into Week 11, Jackson was the runaway favorite to win the MVP award. However, with the Ravens’ fourth loss of the season and him having his worst game of the year against the Steelers, the MVP race should be wide open again.

In the loss to the Ravens, Jackson threw for 207 yards, one touchdown, and one interception, completing only 48.5% of his throws. He is still having a phenomenal season, but having a game like this while losing games at a much higher rate than other MVP candidates will worsen his odds of winning the award.

Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, and Jalen Hurts are three other players who have a fair shot at winning the MVP, and all these quarterbacks’ teams have a better record than Baltimore. If the Ravens continue to drop games, it will be hard for the voters to pick Jackson over the others.

The Ravens will face the Los Angeles Chargers next week, and the AFC West franchise currently has the league’s best scoring defense. It will be a good opportunity for Jackson to redeem himself, but if he struggles again and Baltimore loses, the 27-year-old quarterback probably won’t be able to win back-to-back MVPs.
