Coach Prime Discusses Awards Travis Hunter Could Win

On Tuesday’s episode of Speak, Coach Prime went all out in praise for his big-time weapon on offense and defense. He claims Hunter will win the trifecta of college football accolades: the Heisman, the Jim Thorpe, and the Biletnikoff award.

“Why shouldn’t he? Who’s out there trying to win that? Man to man, like, who’s out there raising their hand when they call Travis Hunter?” Prime said hilariously while responding to Keyshawn Johnson.

“He is HIM. These young people right now, they say, I’m him. He is true HIM in all places. The kid loves football. He’s gonna go home right after practice to his fiancée. He’s gonna eat right? He’s gonna be on the computer with a onesie on, having a good time. You know, whatever they call it.

“But he loves the game. Turns in a multitude of hours of study and preparation on offense and defense, and he just loves the game. Man, he’s an honor and a privilege to coach,” Sanders proudly explained.

Travis Hunter on Top of Heisman Race After Massive Big 12 Win

Colorado’s win over Texas Tech in Week 11 unlocked significant milestones. The team has officially plunged its roots into the Big 12 and has bowl eligibility under its belt. Hunter was the ultimate winner, making a serious case for himself in the Heisman race.

The two-way star is back as +125 favorite to win the coveted honor, followed by Dillon Gabriel of the Oregon Ducks with +275. Last week, Hunter was +225 favorite, but the massive surge happened after his one-man show at AT&T Stadium.

He recorded nine catches for 99 yards and scored a touchdown. On the defensive front, he played 53 snaps and demonstrated his rushing skills down the field with an interception that was later nullified. His counterpart and Boise State RB Ashton Jeanty is close as a +400 favorite, per ESPN. Similarly, Miami QB Cam Ward and Indiana QB Kurtis Rourke are the other prospects in the top five.
