The Chicago Bears’ loss against the New England Patriots has brought changes in the Bears’ coaching staff. Offensive coordinator Shane Waldron was let go after being hired only months ago.
However, Bears faithful are not pleased with the outcome. They want the head coach to go as well.
Bears Fans Call for the Firing of Matt Eberflus, Too
Under Eberflus’ two seasons in charge, Chicago has finished at the bottom of the NFC North division. Despite having the No. 1 pick in this year’s draft — Caleb Williams — the team has failed to make a mark. Once again, they are at the bottom of their division with a 4-5 record.
Amidst this, ESPN’s NFL insider took to X (formerly Twitter) to report on the firing of Waldron. “Change in Chicago: Shane Waldron is out as the Bears offensive coordinator, per sources,” he tweeted.

However, fans want one major change in the coaching staff — to get rid of their head coach.
“Not enough, Eberflus has to go as well,” responded one fan.

“They misspelled Matt Eberflus. How many OCs has he pinned the blame on now?” added one fan.
“This isn’t Eberflus,” another fan added.
“Bears fans are begging for the Matt Eberflus tweet,” tweeted one.

Eberflus Highlights the Reasons for Firing Waldron
Waldron will be replaced by Thomas Brown Jr., the former Carolina Panthers OC. He joined the Bears’ coaching staff earlier this year as the passing game coordinator. After the firing of Waldron, Eberflus released a statement detailing his thoughts on the entire matter.
“After evaluating our entire operation, I decided that it is in the best interest of our team to move in a different direction with the leadership of our offense,” Eberflus stated.
“This decision was well-thought-out, one that was conducted deliberately and respectfully. I would like to thank Shane for his efforts and wish him the best moving forward,” he added.
