Weeks after firing Robert Saleh, the New York Jets are reportedly considering Jon Gruden, a former Super Bowl-winning head coach, as their next successor.
Rumors of Jon Gruden With Gang Green
Frankie V reported this on NY Post Sports, where he shared that he’s been hearing rumors about Gruden possibly joining the Jets as a football operations coach or president.
“I’ve heard Jon Gruden is a serious candidate to coach the Jets or maybe be president of football operations. He’s got close ties to the Jets and Woody. Now, Jon Gruden is going through a lawsuit with the NFL. The NFL may nudge a team like the Jets and say, hey, hire Gruden, and Gruden may drop his lawsuit with the NFL; it might make sense.
Another reporter replied: “I don’t hate it, and yes, they went horribly wrong with the Raiders and I probably wouldn’t let him pick players; I would say, Jon, the first three picks are on the GM after that you can have whoever you want but I don’t hate it because you’re in no man’s land right now.”
Gruden won a Super Bowl ring with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2002 and has an overall record of 117-112.
Jon Gruden is a name being linked to the #Jets.

Jon Gruden Lawsuit: Why Is the Former Raiders Coach Suing the NFL?
Gruden resigned from the Las Vegas Raiders in 2021 after just hours of the New York Post’s shared emails from the former head coach.
The emails included various homophobic, misogynistic, and racist remarks, which led to a massive social media frenzy against Gruden.
Gruden announced his resignation via the team’s Twitter account, writing, “I have resigned as Head Coach of the Las Vegas Raiders. I love the Raiders and do not want to be a distraction. Thank you to all the players, coaches, staff, and fans of Raider Nation. I’m sorry; I never meant to hurt anyone.”
Following his resignation, Gruden filed a lawsuit against the NFL in November 2021 and is currently seeking monetary damages. He claims the league forced him to resign by leaking the emails sent to then-Washington GM Bruce Allen.
Gruden hasn’t coached in the NFL since 2021 and currently runs his own YouTube and TikTok channel called Gruden Loves Football.
