Rex Ryan comes to the defense of Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy amidst tough words from linebacker Micah Parsons.

Micah Parsons isn’t the type of person to shy away from sharing his true feelings. After the Dallas Cowboys suffered another embarrassing loss, this time 34-6 to the Philadelphia Eagles, the linebacker dug into head coach Mike McCarthy.

Meanwhile, former New York Jets HC Rex Ryan came to McCarthy’s defense.

Rex Ryan Calls Out Micah Parsons for Sounding Off on Mike McCarthy

The Cowboys are now on a four-game losing streak and are almost out of the playoff picture with a record of 3-6. The 25-year-old Parsons saw this as a fitting opportunity to suggest that McCarthy should move on.

Ryan, however, during his appearance on ESPN’s Get Up, did not find Parsons’ take interesting or needed.

“Deserve that? Mike McCarthy, no coach deserves that, because the hours this guy is putting in, no player is putting in the work that a head coach is, I can assure you,” said Ryan.

Ryan further added that if Parsons has some private issues with McCarthy, then they should talk behind closed doors. Or the three-time Pro Bowler could speak with ownership but shouldn’t have done so in front of the media.

“Why are you piling on? Dead man walking? Yeah, he is. But you know what? He’s professional as hell. He hasn’t once blamed a damn player, ever. It’s bulls**t,” added Ryan.

What Did Parsons Say About McCarthy?

After the loss against their perennial rivals, Parsons could not hide his frustration. The two-time All-Pro said to the media, “That’s above my pay grade [whether] Mike is coaching again next year. Mike can leave and go wherever he wants.”

“Guys I kind of feel bad for [are veteran right guard] Zack Martin and guys who might be on their last year or on their way out. Because that’s who I wanted to hold the trophy for.

“You want to win games and do great things with those type of legends who put in more time and work than Mike McCarthy ever did,” added Parsons. “Those are the kind of guys that I have so much sympathy and hurt for.”
