Between his entertaining Twitch appearance and his upcoming game against Texas Tech, the hype around this top 2025 NFL Draft prospect is reaching a whole new level.
Hunter Has Top Respect for NFL GOAT Tom Brady
Hunter has the admiration of the highest order for NFL legend Tom Brady. While discussing his future in the big league with respect to the 2025 NFL Draft in April, Colorado’s two-way phenom showed his respect for Brady.
Hunter has been dazzling college football programs with his two-way skills, excelling on both sides of the ball under head coach Deion Sanders. His college exploits have put him on every pro team’s radar, including the New England Patriots. However, Hunter made one thing clear if he ends up in New England — he won’t be wearing Brady’s iconic No. 12.
On The Travis Hunter Show, which boasts 35K subscribers, the 2024 Heisman candidate revealed he has too much respect for Brady’s legacy to take over his jersey number.
“What if I go to the Patriots?” he asked. “Bro, I’m not gonna wear Tom Brady’s number. That’s too much legacy in that jersey.”
However, that’s not the case for Hunter if he lands with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. “I can wear No. 12 there. He didn’t spend 20 years there. I’m wearing 12 there.” [28:34]
With stats that speak for themselves — 60 catches for 757 yards, eight touchdowns, plus 21 tackles, two interceptions, and a forced fumble — Hunter’s NFL prospects are high. The Patriots are eyeing the top draft picks, and fans could see Hunter donning a New England jersey soon.
