DJ Moore Is Dealing With a Controversy Full of Mystery on His Professional Front
Moore was in the middle of a social media firestorm after a puzzling on-field incident during the Bears’ Week 9 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals. As Chicago’s offense scrambled to keep momentum, Moore suddenly exited the field, sending a wave of wonderment.
Footage of the moment quickly went viral, leading some to speculate that Moore, visibly frustrated this season, might be “quitting” on the team mid-play. However, the reality was far from that.

In a postgame interview, Moore clarified, “Tweaked the ankle. I was coming back toward Caleb because I saw he was scrambling. My ankle went in and out… my momentum just took me out of bounds.” While he’s aware of the criticism, Moore shrugged it off, adding, “The noise? I hear it, seen it, but don’t care. It is what it is.”

Bears head coach Matt Eberflus backed Moore’s story, confirming that he also noticed the ankle tweak.
Matt Eberflus said DJ Moore rolled his ankle on the 1st quarter play where he left the field while Caleb Williams was still scrambling. "That’s what I saw and that’s what it was."

Moore’s quick exit turned out to be just a minor setback, and he returned to the game after missing only one offensive snap and caught four passes for 33 yards. The misunderstanding caused major backlash for Moore, but he remains committed to his team, even if social media didn’t give him the benefit of the doubt.
