Minnesota Vikings rookie kicker Will Reichard was on fire heading into Sunday Night Football against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 9. Despite having a perfect rookie season thus far, Reichard appeared hobbled against the Colts after two missed field goals.

Here is the latest on Reichard’s status following Minnesota’s win against the Colts in Week 9.

    What’s Wrong With Will Reichard?

Reichard was 14-for-14 on field goals and 20-for-20 on extra-point attempts prior to Sunday night. Despite a hot start to the regular season, Reichard missed his first two field-goal attempts against the Colts.

Following two missed field-goal attempts, Reichard appeared hobbled and was spotted wearing a heating pad on Minnesota’s sideline. Reichard was still able to make both of his extra-point attempts against the Colts, although he is clearly playing through injury.

Reichard uncharacteristically missed field-goal tries on back-to-back drives to end the first half, including a 31-yard attempt that went straight off the goal post.

According to the SNF on NBC broadcast, Reichard was having issues with his right quad. He was treating the injury with a heating pad while on the sideline and reportedly “didn’t feel right” after kicking.

Reichard clearly played through discomfort during Minnesota’s victory against the Colts. His status is worth monitoring moving into the team’s upcoming matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
