The Dallas Cowboys lost 27-21 to the Atlanta Falcons in Week 9 and are now 3-5 on the season. This was Dallas’ third straight loss, and based on how the other teams have played in the NFC, the Cowboys are unlikely to make the playoffs.
Dak Prescott also suffered a hamstring injury during the game against the Falcons. He did not return to play in the fourth quarter, and Cowboys fans on social media are urging the team to go into complete tank mode.
Cowboys Fans React to Dak Prescott Suffering Injury in Loss vs. Falcons
The Cowboys have a tough set of fixtures coming up, and given how they have looked this season, it will be tough for them to win even eight games. As a result, the team’s fans want them to tank and are looking forward to next season.

Cooper Rush played well after replacing Prescott, and with him, the Cowboys will look like a competent team. The fans want Trey Lance to get an opportunity as the former 49ers quarterback is a raw player.
If the Cowboys want to tank, they could start Lance. Either he will lead them to a very high draft pick or show that he can be a starting quarterback in the NFL. Even if the Cowboys stick with Prescott, they can raise Lance’s trade value and get back draft assets in return.
Multiple teams around the league would love to have a quarterback of Lance’s caliber if he plays like he was projected to when the 49ers drafted him with the third overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Cowboys Were Once Again Exploited by a Quality Running Back
The Cowboys have had the worst running offense and defense in the league this season. Their running back Rico Dowdle had a good game as he rushed for 75 yards on 12 carries, averaging 6.3 yards per carry.
However, the Cowboys’ defense could not stop Bijan Robinson, who performed well. The Falcons running back rushed for 86 yards on 19 carries and seven receptions for 59 yards. Quality running backs have exploited Dallas throughout the season, and Robinson also took advantage of that.
Cowboys legend Troy Aikman mentioned that Robinson is a player who could have a significant impact on the game, and the Texas product did not disappoint. Dallas’ next game is against the Philadelphia Eagles, and as of now, nobody knows whether Prescott will play or not.
