Despite dealing with a plethora of injuries on the offensive side of the ball, Houston’s defense has remained relatively healthy. But the front seven endured a major scare Thursday night.

Anderson, the reigning Defensive Rookie of the Year Award winner, suffered an ankle injury after Texans linebacker Neville Hewitt appeared to land on his ankle. Anderson was helped to the sideline and entered the team’s medical tent.

Anderson returned for the Texans for just one play with one minute remaining in the first quarter. His ankle was heavily taped.

Houston eventually ruled Anderson questionable to return against the Jets due to an ankle injury,

Anderson never returned to the game, and the Texans went on to suffer a 21-13 loss. New York’s offense had its way with Houston’s defense with Anderson off the field, scoring 21 points in the second half.

The Texans didn’t provide an update on Anderson after the game. We’ll learn more about his status in the coming days.
