Fantasy Kicker Streamers Week 9: Austin Seibert, Will Reichard, and Brandon McManus Among Top Options

    Published on

With two of the top four kickers on bye this week, let's examine several streaming options for your fantasy football team in Week 9.

In 2023, there was only one kicker who averaged double-digit points for fantasy football: Dallas Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey. But 2024 has been a terrific season for kickers, as there are currently nine averaging 10 or more fantasy points per game.

That means there are plenty of options at the position for fantasy managers. However, with the Pittsburgh Steelers and San Francisco 49ers on bye, two of the top four kickers won’t be playing this week. Let’s examine several streaming options at the position for Week 9.

    Week 9 Fantasy Kicker Streamers

Austin Seibert, Washington Commanders (at NYG) | 44% Rostered

Austin Seibert is currently the No. 1 kicker in fantasy football, averaging 13.9 fantasy points per game. There’s a full point gap between Seibert and the next best-qualified option (Pittsburgh Steelers kicker Chris Boswell, who’s averaging 12.8 fantasy points per game).

And this isn’t some situation where Seibert was hot early in the year but has since cooled down. Over the last four weeks, the Washington Commanders’ kicker is averaging 13.2 fantasy points per game — no other kicker is even averaging 12 fantasy points per game over that span.

Seibert’s 23 field goals are tied with Boswell for the most in the NFL this season, and he’s played one fewer game than Boswell. Seibert has only missed two field goals all year (making 92% of his attempts), and he’s 19-of-19 on extra points.

The Commanders have the NFL’s third-highest-scoring offense (29.5 points per game), so Seibert has plenty of opportunities for field goals and extra points.

Many fantasy analysts have Seibert as a top-two play this week, which is about as good as you’re going to get with a streamer. The New York Giants have allowed the eighth-most field goals per game (2.0), and they are giving up the 14th-most fantasy points per game to kickers (8.1) this season.

Shockingly, Seibert is only rostered in 44% of leagues; not only is he a terrific streaming option this week, but he might be a great every-week starter for the remainder of the season.

Will Reichard, Minnesota Vikings (vs IND) | 16% Rostered

On the season, Will Reichard is the No. 9-ranked kicker, averaging 10.6 fantasy points per game. And from Weeks 2-8, Reichard has been the fourth-best kicker (11.5 fantasy points per game).

However, he’s been hot as of late. Over the last three weeks, Reichard put up 13 fantasy points per game (third-most among all kickers over that span).

Reichard has made all of his field goals (14-of-14) and extra points (20-of-20) this season, including four kicks of 50+ yards. The Minnesota Vikings have the seventh-highest-scoring offense in the NFL through eight weeks (26.9 points per game), and now they’re also getting tight end T.J. Hockenson back in the lineup, so there should be plenty of opportunities for field goals and extra points.

The Indianapolis Colts are giving up the 11th-most field goals this season and allowing the 15th-most fantasy points per game to kickers (8.0), so this is a solid matchup too. Also, Indianapolis plays indoors at Lucas Oil Stadium, so you won’t have to worry about weather affecting Reichard’s performance.

Many fantasy analysts have Reichard as a top-five play this week, so he’s an excellent streaming option.

Brandon McManus, Green Bay Packers (vs. DET) | 9% Rostered

On Oct. 15, the Green Bay Packers cut kicker Brayden Narveson and signed Brandon McManus to a one-year deal. McManus has now played two games with the Packers, and he’s drilled a game-winner in each contest.

First, McManus hit a 45-yard field goal as time expired to lift Green Bay over the Houston Texans. The following week, he drilled a 24-yarder as time expired to beat the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Over the last two weeks, McManus has averaged 9.5 fantasy points per game, which is 12th-best among all kickers. This season, he’s a perfect 4-of-4 on field goals and 6-of-6 on extra points.

Considering he was out of the NFL 15 days ago, it makes sense that he’s rostered in so few fantasy leagues. However, he’s a very solid option in Week 9 when the Packers take on the Detroit Lions in a game that could become a shootout.

Also, this game will be played indoors at Ford Field, so there are no concerns about the weather affecting his kicking.
