The Dallas Cowboys have not had the greatest start to the 2024 NFL season. The Dak Prescott-led team showed promise in the season opener against the Cleveland Browns, but that’s all they have to account for. The Cowboys have one of the worst run defenses in the league right now, and teams have been toying with them.
The spark on the offense has also been missing for the Cowboys. Their run game has been awful this year. Jerry Jones had the opportunity to land Derrick Henry in the offseason. However, the Cowboys GM said the team could not afford Henry. Jones also passed on signing Saquon Barkley. Both Henry (704) and Barkley (482) have more rushing yards than the entire Cowboys team (463) this season.
All is not well in Jerry’s World right now, and four-time NBA champion Shaquille O’Neal has proposed his best solution for the team.
Shaq Urges Cowboys To Sign Former Super Bowl-Winning Running Back
On Wednesday’s episode of The Big Podcast with Shaq, the Los Angeles Lakers legend suggested Jones and the Cowboys sign former Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Leonard Fournette, who was also a guest on the show.
“Jerry Jones, it’s me, your boy Shaq,” the Lakers icon said. “Look at him. Looking good. Six pack. T*ts is tight… Jerry Jones, stop messing around. Jerry Jones, my man is right here. Jerry, this is Shaq, the biggest Cowboy fan ever. I don’t switch. I always been a Cowboy fan. Ups and down. The man is sitting right here, Mr. Jones, stop playing around and sign my man up.”

Fournette last played in the NFL in 2023 with the Buffalo Bills before he was let go in January 2024. He attempted to make a comeback by working out for the Indianapolis Colts before the start of the 2024 NFL regular season, but it wasn’t successful.
The seven-year NFL veteran still believes he can lace up and be productive on the field. Fournette has had two 1,000-yard rushing seasons. He was influential in the postseason during the Buccaneers’ Super Bowl LV run, racking up 300 rushing yards and three touchdowns while catching for 148 yards and a TD.
While Jerry Jones Is Shocked, Help Is Not Coming for the Cowboys
Jones didn’t mince words after the Cowboys’ humiliating 47-9 loss to the Lions in Dallas on Sunday. He said the defeat was a “shocker.” Jones also called the team’s performance “very concerning” and “very humbling.”
The Cowboys are currently 3-3 and have a 35% chance of making it to the postseason. According to NFL insider Dianna Russini, Jones has said the team will not be ahead of the Nov. 5 trade deadline. The Cowboys GM admitted that the team needs to improve in several areas.
Dallas is currently in their bye week. Things will have to change quickly in Big D for the Cowboys to be competitive again and clinch a playoff berth, let alone contend for a Super Bowl.
