Deion Sanders’ Hilarious Message to Daughter Shelomi – ‘I Love U Baby but You’re Not #1 Right Now’

Deion Sanders' daughter Shelomi thought she'd have the No. 1 spot in the Sanders' kids power rankings with a cool t-shirt about her dad -- he wasn't buying it.

Deion Sanders, aka “Coach Prime,” has a playful and lively presence both on and off the field. In a recent Instagram post, the Colorado Buffaloes head coach gave fans a glimpse of his lighthearted side when he hilariously ranked his kids.

In the post, his youngest daughter, Shelomi Sanders, wore a “favorite kid” t-shirt. However, this prompted Deion to respond witty just to make things clear.

“@shelomisanders thinks she’s #1 in my kids Rankings. I Love u baby but you’re NOT #1 right now your sister @deiondrasanders is because she just had her Lil Baby but I love the shirt. I’m proud of u and I’m happy for u getting a chance to do yo thang this season.”

Coach Prime’s eldest child, Deiondra Sanders, just welcomed her first child — Coach Prime’s first grandchild — with R&B singer Jacquees. As a matter of fact, she delivered baby Que on Aug. 9, which is also the NFL Hall of Famer’s birthday.

Shelomi might be disappointed with her dad’s playful ranking, but with five children, three of whom are currently competing in NCAA athletics, Coach Prime has plenty to be proud of, even if Shelomi isn’t “#1” right now!

Shelomi Sanders Paving Her Own Path Away From Colorado

Shelomi has stepped out from her father’s shadow and forged her own path in college basketball. The 20-year-old has been switching schools to follow her dad for the past three years. However, Colorado was the last stop for her, where her father is the head football coach.

She entered the transfer portal in April, a move that didn’t feel right to Coach Prime. At the moment, Sanders said (via @dnvr_sports):

“It was stupid. You don’t enter the portal. You get a team before you enter the portal. You kinda get a team before you enter the portal. You know, that’s what I would advise a child. And I know, ‘Well it’s illegal…’ C’mon, man.”

Shelomi has since kicked off her career at Alabama A&M. Her decision to transfer also came after an underwhelming stint with the Lady Buffs. She barely saw the court last season, playing in only seven games for coach JR Payne.

With such limited playing time, Shelomi Her averaged just 0.7 points and 0.6 rebounds per game. It’s no surprise that the talented 5-foot-5 guard wanted a fresh start.

While Deion initially disagreed with her decision, the two have reached a mutual consensus. Shelomi recently commented, “He’s my dad, and he’s also a coach, so I think that’s why he reacted like that… we handled it behind closed doors.”

At Alabama A&M, Shelomi Sanders is ready to show the basketball world the skills she displayed in her senior year when she averaged 16 points per game at Rockwall-Heath.
