49ers vs. Raiders Game Preview
For the Raiders, Gardner Minshew was named the team’s starter over Aidan O’Connell.
Neither of those two will play. In fact, Vegas plans to sit its starters out in Week 3.
As a result, Nathan Peterman will get the start and handle most of the game for Las Vegas. Rookie Carter Bradley will also get some playing time.
The 49ers, on the other hand, will start most of their starters, including Brock Purdy. Those who have held out of camp or are injured, including Trent Williams, Christian McCaffrey, and Brandon Aiyuk, will not play.
Raiders receiver Kristian Wilkerson is a name to keep an eye on. Against the Cowboys, he caught three passes for 35 yards.
Running back Sincere McCormick is also worth a watch, leading the team in rushing yards against the Vikings.
For San Francisco, rookie receiver Jacob Cowing has been a star during the preseason and has the opportunity to keep that up. Against the Saints, he caught four passes for 51 yards. Tight end Cameron Latu also caught three for 30 yards.
The 49ers earned their first win of the preseason against the Saints, while the Raiders have yet to notch their first win Friday night against San Francisco.
