With the NFL season right around the corner, fans will now be able to purchase NFL Sunday Ticket.
YouTube TV bought the rights from DirecTV before the 2023 season and is now introducing several new options. Subscribers can now opt for monthly payments instead of a one-time fee, which was a massive dealbreaker for many fans. This flexibility helps the fans enjoy their favorite sport without making a hole in their pocket.
What’s the Cost of ‘NFL Sunday Ticket’ on YouTube TV?
For the 2024 season, a standard “NFL Sunday Ticket” subscription on YouTube TV costs $349, and if you wish to include NFL RedZone, the total cost comes up to $389.
Alternatively, the season subscription for access through YouTube Primetime Channels is $449, with an additional $40 for the NFL RedZone package, bringing the total to $489.
The platform also offers a complimentary seven-day trial for “NFL Sunday Ticket,” allowing fans to watch a whole day’s worth of games before committing to the full package.
Another cool feature is the customizable multiview, which enables fans to have more control over the games they want to watch at the same time. Last year, it was capped at four games.
YouTube TV has also made it easier for young college students to enjoy game days, with a discounted price of just $199 for the season (or $209 if they want NFL RedZone included).
The standard “Sunday Ticket,'” which includes every game of the season, costs $679.99 and goes up to $739.99 if you choose the RedZone version, which can also be bought through the Apple App Store.
NFL Wins the Billion-Dollar ‘Sunday Ticket’ Lawsuit
A US judge overturned the $4.7 billion judgment against the NFL related to the “Sunday Ticket” lawsuit. The lawsuit originally involved 2.4 million residential customers and 48,000 businesses that purchased the package on DirecTV from 2011 to 2022.
Judge Philip Gutierrez of Los Angeles nullified the verdict, criticizing the jury’s calculation of damages, which was based on a theory not presented during the trial.
The league expressed gratitude for the judgment passed in their favor, which saved them billions of dollars that were first ordered to be paid to the plaintiffs.
They also reaffirmed their confidence in the league’s media distribution model and said that it allows the fans to enjoy the sport they love.
