New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ fantasy football outlook in 2024 will certainly be better than his result in 2023, so long as he manages to play more than four snaps. There are fantasy team names you can use with his likeness, including “Mr. Rodgers’ Neighborhood.”
Below, I’ll examine Rodgers’ fantasy outlook this season, considering that he’s coming off an Achilles injury, and see if he’s worth a draft selection.
Aaron Rodgers’ Fantasy Profile for the 2024 NFL Season
One of my favorite fantasy football strategies is waiting on a quarterback, and Rodgers fits that mold well. He’s going as the QB19 and No. 137 overall.
According to TruMedia, Rodgers completed 64.6% of his passes for 3,695 yards, 26 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions in 2022, his last season with the Packers.
As mentioned, though, Rodgers played just four snaps for the Jets to kick off the 2023 season before he tore his Achilles against the Buffalo Bills.
He’ll get a chance to rebound this season with what I’d consider an even better roster with wide receivers Garrett Wilson, Mike Wiliams, Xavier Gipson, Malachi Corley, and others in the fray. The team also added some new offensive linemen, Morgan Moses and Tyron Smith, and they drafted Olu Fashanu.
Wilson caught 95 passes on 168 targets for 1,042 yards and three touchdowns last season with a series of quarterbacks led by Zach Wilson, who’s now with the Denver Broncos.
According to Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic, Garrett Wilson and Rodgers “hit a bit of a rough patch” during training camp, but I wouldn’t worry about that too much. Tensions can get high in training camp, and I expect things like this will work themselves out.
Rodgers had a young and inexperienced receiving corps in his final season with the Packers. In 2021, he threw for 4,115 yards, 37 touchdowns, four interceptions, and completed nearly 69% of his passes while winning his fourth MVP.
In examining his fantasy value, you need to decide if you’re OK with taking him coming off a massive injury.
The Jets have a Week 12 bye week.
Is Rodgers a Good Fantasy Pick?
Going as the QB19, there’s a lot of upside in drafting Rodgers. He’s coming off the Achilles injury, but he‘s a Hall of Fame-caliber quarterback who’s been excellent throughout his career. Even in perhaps one of his worst seasons, Rodgers finished as QB14 in 2022. In 2021, he was QB6.

When opening day comes around, Rodgers will be more than a year post-injury, and he could’ve come back last season if the Jets were in playoff contention.
This is simply too low, ADP-wise, for a player of Rodgers’ caliber.
Take him late and reap the benefits. He has an above-average cast of receivers.
