    Football never sleeps. While the 2024 NFL regular season is still weeks away, teams around the league are deep into training camp practices. Now that the pads are back on, clubs’ decision-makers can get a better idea of how their rosters look before Week 1.

    With that in mind, we’re tracking every bit of news coming out of training camps. Here are the top stories from Tuesday’s NFL practices.

    Arizona Cardinals

    • The Cardinals aren’t taking any chances with their franchise quarterback. Kyler Murray will not play during the preseason, head coach Jonathan Gannon announced on Tuesday (link via ESPN’s Adam Schefter).

    Carolina Panthers

    • Panthers QB Bryce Young will not play in his team’s Thursday night preseason game against the Patriots, per Schefter.

    Cincinnati Bengals

    Dallas Cowboys

    • Mike McCarthy was not pleased with the Cowboys’ Tuesday practice, according to Calvin Watkins of the Dallas Morning News. McCarthy said Dallas had too many pre-snap penalties and defensive substitutions in advance of their Thursday night game against the Rams.
    • On the flip side, ESPN’s Todd Archer reports that McCarthy is encouraged by CB Trevon Diggs’ progress as he recovers from a torn ACL.
    • “We’re just as excited as he is,” McCarthy said Tuesday. “He looks great. He’s so damn competitive. … We’ll just stay the course. I thought he did a little more work yesterday than we probably laid out, and that just kinda shows where he is.”

    Detroit Lions

    • Lions CB Emmanuel Moseley suffered a torn pectoral and is out indefinitely, according to Schefter. Moseley has some of the worst injury luck in the NFL. He tore his ACL in each of the last two seasons and has appeared in just six games since 2022.
    • Tight end Sam LaPorta remained out of Lions practice with a minor hamstring injury on Tuesday, reports Justin Rogers of Detroit Football Network.

    Green Bay Packers

    • Packers RB Josh Jacobs (groin) practiced without limitations on Tuesday, according to Matt Schneidman of The Athletic. Jacobs, who signed a four-year, $48 million deal with Green Bay in March, had missed the team’s last two practices.

    Houston Texans

    • Texans OT Tytus Howard spent time in the club’s medical tent on Tuesday before being driven inside Houston’s facility for further examination, per Aaron Wilson of KPRC2. Howard is expected to start at right tackle in 2024.

    Jacksonville Jaguars

    • Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence will play one or two series against the Chiefs in Jacksoville’s first preseason game, head coach Doug Pederson said on The Rich Eisen Show.

    Los Angeles Rams

    • The Rams signed free agent offensive tackle Conor McDermott on Tuesday, per Mike Garafolo of NFL Network. Los Angeles is banged up along the offensive line; left tackle Alaric Jackson, left guard Jonah Jackson, and right tackle Rob Havenstein are all dealing with injuries.

    San Francisco 49ers

    • With trade rumors swirling around him, WR Brandon Aiyuk was at the 49ers’ headquarters on Tuesday, per Cam Inman of the Mercury News.
    • “This stuff does take time,” head coach Kyle Shanahan said of Aiyuk’s status. “Every day, I hope it gets resolved, but I have no timetable on it, didn’t surprise me coming into this.”

    Tennessee Titans

    • Titans offensive lineman Saahdiq Charles retired on Tuesday. The ex-Commander had been poised to start at right guard on Tennessee’s revamped offensive line. Charles figures to be replaced by Dillon Radunz or Daniel Brunskill.
