How Many Picks Do the Bills Have in the 2025 NFL Draft?

Currently, the Bills have eight picks in the 2025 NFL Draft. They still have possession of their original selections in Round 1, Round 2, Round 4, and Round 6.

The Bills sent their Round 3 selection to the Cleveland Browns as part of the Oct. 15 trade involving receiver Amari Cooper. Buffalo also parted with a 2026 seventh-round pick and received a 2025 sixth-rounder originally owned by the Detroit Lions.

Before sending the sixth-round pick to the Bills, the Browns acquired in a trade involving wideout Donovan Peoples-Jones.

Buffalo’s 2025 fifth-rounder was shipped to the Houston Texans as part of the Stefon Diggs trade. Meanwhile, the Bills’ seventh-rounder was sent to the New York Giants — a familiar contingent consisting of former Bills Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll — in a pick swap involving Carlos Basham.

Since the Giants traded for Basham, the Bills got a sixth-rounder back from New York. And in the aforementioned Diggs trade, the Bills achieved the most spoils in terms of capital, gaining a second-round pick. Their final trade addition was a fourth-rounder from Chicago, which ultimately netted the Bears edge rusher Austin Booker.

What are the Bills’ Biggest Needs in 2025?

Wide receiver will continue to be a need until it’s not.

Cooper is talented, but he’s 30 years old and his best years are behind him. He isn’t a long-term solution for Allen.

Keon Coleman is incredibly talented and a worthwhile investment, and Curtis Samuel and Khalil Shakir are both competent secondary options. But the unit’s depth is lacking, and as we’ve seen across the league, WR groups function best when at least two gravitational threats can work off each other.

Aside from wide receiver, there are other positions to monitor on offense. While Ray Davis could become a strong complementary back alongside James Cook, another running back could make sense in 2025. Elsewhere, right tackle Spencer Brown is set to be a free agent.

All this being said, once the Bills solidify their receiving core around Coleman and Cooper, their offense will look very good. The defense almost appears more precarious long-term. Rasul Douglas, Austin Johnson, and Mike Edwards are a few notable free agents in 2025. DaQuan Jones and Gregory Rousseau are among those in 2026.

However, expiring contracts are only half the battle. There are also players who are aging, and whose days of optimal value may be behind them, most of all Von Miller.

The Bills may soon be required to heavily re-invest in the defensive line — both on the interior and on the edge, and with varying player types among their needs. In the immediate timeline, there is some stability, but being prepared is always the best strategy.
