Meet Jamie Erdahl, Host of Good Morning Football

A new-look Good Morning Football debuts on July 29 on NFL Network -- here's everything we know on co-host Jamie Erdahl.

Good Morning Football returns with a new look in 2024, but a familiar face will remain as host: Jamie Erdahl. Keeping the cast of Kyle Brandt, Sherree Burruss, Akbar Gbajabiamila, and Peter Schrager (on weekdays; and Colleen Wolfe on weekends) on track is no easy task, but this isn’t Erdahl’s first rodeo. Here’s everything we know about the Good Morning Football host and her rise to NFL Network fame.

When Did Jamie Erdahl Join Good Morning Football?

Erdahl is an ’80s kid (born Dec. 3, 1988) from Minnesota, attending St. Olaf College as a basketball and softball player. She eventually transferred to American University in Washington, D.C., in 2009, earning a degree in broadcasting/communications.

Before becoming one of the hosts of Good Morning Football, she was the lead sideline reporter for the SEC on CBS (part of a team with Brad Nessler and Gary Danielson). Erdahl also covers the NCAA basketball regular season, the NBA, and March Madness for CBS/Turner.

Erdahl previously worked at New England Sports Network, where she served prominent reporting roles for the Boston Red Sox (sideline) and Boston Bruins (rink side) in 2013 and 2014, respectively. She also worked in the studio hosting NESN’s 30-minute live news shows.

She began co-hosting Good Morning Football in 2022, and this year’s iteration will have a new lineup and rotating guests — though it’ll regularly feature NFL insiders Mike Garafolo, Tom Pelissero, and Ian Rapoport throughout the week.

From an interview with Deadline, Erdahl opened up about the camaraderie on the show and  what she’s looking forward to with the GMFB makeover:

“You know what you love, but you don’t know yet the new things you’ll fall in love with about parts of the show,” Erdahl said. “We don’t know what it’s going to look like, and I actually think what will be entertaining for people that know our show so well, that we do kind of crazy clunky things, is that we are going to grow together, literally in this new massive space that feels four times the size of our old studio.”

    Who Is Erdahl’s Husband?

Erdahl met Sam Buckman in 2014 — they were married in 2017 and have three daughters together (Brooke, Avery, and Nora). Their most recent birth in March 2024 did not come quite as planned. The umbilical cord prolapsed and went around Nora’s neck, and mama bear went in for an emergency C-section.

On top of the immense gratitude to the medical professionals who got them through the situation, Erdahl thanked her husband, Sam: “To my husband who met my petrified tears with calm and strength despite his own terror.”

Buckman kicked for the University of Michigan (2006-2009) but largely stays out of the public eye, keeping his social media accounts locked/private.

“I just love the show so much. I love the NFL,” Erdahl mentioned. “I feel like I barely just started in the two years that I was on the show, and there wasn’t going to be much that was going to stop me from staying in this capacity.”
