The San Francisco 49ers field one of the more talented rosters across the NFL, featuring a Pro Bowl or All-Pro talent at nearly every position group.
Because of their abundance of talent inside the facility, it’s no surprise that the reigning NFC champions delivered multiple representatives for Pro Football Network’s NFL Top 100 list ahead of 2024. Yet, the Niners delivered an astonishing nine players on our countdown. Time to dive into who made the cut out in the Bay Area.
Which 49ers Landed on PFN’s NFL Top 100 List?
Let’s start off with the highest-ranked 49ers player on the PFN NFL Top 100: Christian McCaffrey, who checks in at No. 5.
The all-purpose running back has few peers across the league for displaying dominance as a grinding runner and reliable receiver out of the backfield. McCaffrey delivered a league-best 2,023 yards from scrimmage for San Francisco. This even after resting for Week 18.
Outside of his astronomical total yards tally, McCaffrey led the NFL with 21 touchdowns and is the highest-ranked RB on the list.
Trent Williams, meanwhile, claims the title of best-ranked offensive lineman, coming in at No. 10 overall. He continues to defy Father Time after producing a 13th Pro Bowl appearance while continuing to wash out incoming pass rushers. Williams literally delivers a tutorial on how left tackles should dominate their blocks every game.
Nick Bosa is the next 49er behind Williams and McCaffrey, as the edge rusher comes in at No. 13. The 2022 NFL Defensive Player of the Year, however, fell behind four different players at the position (Myles Garrett, Micah Parsons, T.J. Watt, and Maxx Crosby).
Bosa witnessed a drop off in sacks last season — going from an NFL-best 18.5 to 10.5 last year. Still, he enters 2024 with a personal streak of producing three straight double-digit sack campaigns.
Like the players listed before him, Fred Warner managed to crack the top 20. And at No. 18 overall, Warner is also the highest-ranked inside linebacker. He’s one of the few linebackers who can do it all: single cover wide receivers/tight ends, take on blockers then pulverize the running game, or get trusted to blitz.
George Kittle found his way into the 20-30 range, checking in at No. 28. “The People’s Tight End” even returned to the 1,000-yard club last season with 1,020 yards — ending a three-year streak of missing the century mark.

Brandon Aiyuk followed Kittle at No. 38 overall. Aiyuk has progressively gotten better each season in delivering back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons. His 1,342 yards from 2023 represent his career mark.
Warner and Bosa aren’t alone among 49ers defenders in PFN’s Top 100. Cornerback Charvarius Ward landed at No. 48 after breaking up a league-high 23 passes and coming off his first career Pro Bowl nomination.
By following this far, you’ve noticed quarterback Brock Purdy finally gets named here. But did Purdy land somewhere in the top 50?
Unfortunately, he misses that mark and comes in at No. 55. Yet, Purdy still showed he’s the future of the franchise and led the NFL with a TD completion percentage of 7.0 and a 113.0 QB rating.
Deebo Samuel has witnessed a production decline ever since signing his blockbuster $71.55 million deal before training camp in 2022. Nevertheless, Samuel still gets lauded for his versatility as a running back and WR option, which helped him claim the No. 72 spot. He earned his way on the list after leading all wideouts with 8.8 yards after the catch.
Samuel is San Francisco’s final talent to crack the Top 100. With nine players on the list, the 49ers prove they’ve got one of the more loaded rosters ahead of the upcoming season — fueling new energy to return to the Super Bowl.
