From running the fastest-ever 40-yard dash in NFL Combine history to being taken with the No. 28 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs, Xavier Worthy has had an exciting offseason.
However, he wasn’t done yet, as he also got engaged a few weeks before training camp got underway. Here’s everything you need to know about his track star fiancée, Tia Jones.
Who Is Xavier Worthy’s Fiancée, Tia Jones?
Worthy’s 4.21 40-yard dash broke John Ross’ record at the NFL Combine, but he’s not the only speedster in this relationship. Born on Sept. 8, 2000, Jones is a track and field athlete who is also extremely fast.
She attended the London Olympic Trials, competing in hurdling and sprinting events. Unfortunately, she came up just short. She’s been running track and field since she was a child, and she was talented enough to go pro straight out of high school.

In 2013, Jones was named USA Track and Field’s Athlete of the Week after winning the 13-14 girl 100-meter and 200-meter hurdles and setting national and Junior Olympic records in both events at the USATF National Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships.
Also, Jones won the 100-meter hurdles at the 2016 USA Junior Championships with a time of 12.84 seconds, matching Aliuska López’s world junior record that stood since 1987. This marked the best ever time set by a 15-year-old athlete.
She is currently working her way back from an ACL injury, and NBC reported, “Jones has experienced a turbulent 2024. In February, she matched the indoor 60m hurdles world record of 7.67 seconds at the USATF Indoor Championships. But in that same meet, she collided with the crash pads and suffered an ACL injury that kept her out of World Indoors.”

Both Jones and Worthy share an Instagram page where they post about their relationship. The account’s bio reads, “Lives of 2 professional athletes.”
They also have a YouTube account with 180 subscribers, but they have yet to post a video.
A Look At Worthy and Jones’ Relationship Timeline
It’s unclear when the couple started seeing each other or when they initially met, but their first Instagram post came on May 17. Jones was also seen attending Worthy’s NFL draft party in late April.
On July 3, the couple posted an announcement that they were purchasing their first home together.
“We are home owners,” wrote Jones in the caption. “Super blessed to be able to experience buying a home with the person you love!! Nothing more important than family and building a foundation!”

Now, the two are engaged. “The Worthy’s,” captioned the couple on their Instagram.
In the video, which can be seen above, Worthy proposes to Jones on the beach in front of a heart made of flowers. Additionally, there were lit-up letters spelling out “Marry Me” and a red carpet of roses.
