With the 2024 NFL schedule officially out, fans can now start making plans to attend and watch games this upcoming season.
Here’s a full list of the NFL‘s 2024 prime-time games, with schedules for Thursday Night Football, Sunday Night Football, and Monday Night Football.
NFL Prime-Time Games: Thursday Night Football Schedule 2024
- Start Time: 8:15 p.m. ET
- Live Stream: Amazon Prime
The NFL first introduced the modern Thursday Night Football on Nov. 23, 2006. Before then, the only Thursday matchups were the two games hosted by the Dallas Cowboys and Detroit Lions every Thanksgiving.
That lasted six years until the NFL expanded TNF to encompass the entire season. Since 2012, Thursday Night Football has technically run from Week 2 until the second-to-last week of the season. That was Week 16 until the league expanded to 17 games in 2021. In 2023, we had TNF games from Weeks 2 through 17.
The “technically” part of the explanation is because the first game of the season, which is usually hosted by the defending Super Bowl champion, is not considered an official Thursday Night Football game, despite taking place on Thursday night.

- Week 1: Baltimore Ravens vs. Kansas City Chiefs
Sept. 5 | NBC*
The Kansas City Chiefs have become quite familiar with opening the NFL season. With their second consecutive Super Bowl title secured, they’ll be doing so once again in 2024. An AFC Championship Game rematch is on the docket against 2023 MVP QB Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens.
Two AFC heavyweights will look to get off on the right foot in Week 1 and officially kick off the start of the 2024 season with a matchup that is sure to be good.

Sunday Night Football Schedule 2024
- Start time: 8:20 p.m. ET
- TV channel: NBC
- Live stream: Peacock
Back in 1990, the NFL used to broadcast Sunday Night Football on TNT. That lasted until 1997 when ESPN took over, and they held the rights for eight years. However, since 2006, NBC has hosted Sunday Night Football.
Interestingly (and perhaps confusingly), the program Sunday Night Football airs more than 18 games. While the NFL has done away with calling its non-Sunday games “Sunday Night Football,” technically, the TV show is Sunday Night Football, and the day on which the games air doesn’t actually matter.

- Week 1: Los Angeles Rams vs. Detroit Lions
Sept. 8
Matthew Stafford will once again lead his Los Angeles Rams into Motor City to take on his former team, the Detroit Lions. However, this is much more than another homecoming matchup. It pits two NFC contenders against one another with a chance to get an early leg up on a conference foe.
The Lions look poised to be at the top of the NFC once again, while the Rams look to return to contention after last year’s 10-win season.

Monday Night Football Schedule 2024
- Start time: 8:15 p.m. ET
- TV channel: ESPN
- Live stream: ESPN+
Monday Night Football resided with ABC from 1970 until 2005. Surprisingly, broadcasting NFL games cost ABC millions of dollars. So, in 2006, the rights shifted over to ESPN, where it has remained ever since.
Beginning in 2021, ESPN began simulcasting a select number of Monday night games on ESPN2. The “ManningCast” features Peyton Manning and Eli Manning talking candidly about the game and interviewing three to four guests as an alternate way of watching.
