Minnesota, noticeably, is giving multiple Mercer players a chance by bringing in the duo of Devron Harper and Ty James.
Harper caught 157 total passes across three seasons with the Bears, racking up 1,893 yards and 13 touchdowns. James led Mercer in all three major WR categories with 64 catches, 1,157 yards, and seven touchdowns in 2023.
Linebacker is the one position that’ll have the most UDFA representatives in the Twin Cities. Of the quartet, Dallas Gant was a first-team All-MAC selection after tallying 116 tackles. He also earned first-team conference honors by College Football Network.
As for contracts, the only UDFA deals that surfaced were for the WR Harper and Air Force linebacker Bo Richter.
Per Aaron Wilson of NBC KPRC 2 in Houston, Harper has a $10,000 salary guaranteed, which includes a $5,000 signing bonus. Richter was handed a similar deal.

Main spent 2022 with Colorado before the arrival of Deion Sanders. He managed to play in 10 games for the Bobcats and delivered a career-best 4.5 tackles for a loss in 2023.
He’ll join the rest of the rookie class, including the draft picks, when Minnesota launches its rookie minicamp.
When Is the Vikings’ Rookie Minicamp?
The timeframe of May 3-6 or May 10-13 is when the Vikings will hold their rookie minicamp.
Per the NFL Operations page, all teams, including Minnesota, can select a Friday-Sunday or Saturday-Monday format for their rookie camp.
All rookies — including the UDFA signings — are attendees of this camp. It’s their first chance to show head coach Kevin O’Connell and the Minnesota staff what they’re capable of in front of them.

For some UDFAs, it’s an opportunity to land on the 90-man roster or even pursue a final 53-man roster spot.
There have been success stories out of Vikings rookie minicamps before.
The most notable is former wide receiver Adam Thielen, who went from undrafted NCAA Division II receiver to camp invitee to emerging as a two-time Pro Bowl selection. He went on to catch 534 career passes for 6,682 yards and scored 55 touchdowns as a Viking.
