“The Pat McAfee Show” joined ESPN on Sept. 7, 2023, in a deal reportedly valued at $85 million over five years.

While the show airs on ESPN at noon during weekdays, “The Pat McAfee Show Draft Spectacular” was not featured on ESPN’s primary coverage and was rather live-streamed on YouTube, ESPN+, and TikTok from the Detroit Ice Rink.

The “Pat McAfee Show Draft Spectacular” was an alternate telecast for Day 1 of the draft and will not return for Day 2.

    Bill Belichick’s Future in TV

The six-time Super Bowl champion head coach with the New England Patriots was let go after the 2023 season and was not picked up as a head coach by any team. This has left the NFL world wondering where the legendary coach will end up next. For the time being, it is looking like it will be television.

Belichick was outstanding television for many reasons and was a breath of fresh air on “The Pat McAfee Show Draft Spectacular.”

Starting with Caleb Williams, who went No. 1 to the Chicago Bears, continuing with Jayden Daniels, who went No. 2 to the Washington Commanders, and Drake Maye, who went No. 3 to the New England Patriots, Belichick pointed out each and every flaw of all three quarterbacks.

Belichick praised all three players and highlighted their talents and strengths, but he spent as much time highlighting each of their weaknesses.

Belichick also brought humor to the table, such as when he told the story of trading for Randy Moss.

Belichick had a strong debut on “The Pat McAfee Show Draft Spectacular” between his player breakdowns and insight into draft strategy, and he will soon be a regular on McAfee’s show this fall.

It has been reported that Belichick is being pursued by several TV networks, one being Omaha Productions. The company produces the popular “Manningcast” with brothers and former NFL Super Bowl-winning quarterbacks Peyton and Eli Manning providing alternative viewing during ESPN’s “Monday Night Football.”

As far as coaching goes, the NFC East could be Belichick’s landing spot.

“He is believed to be biding his time until next January for openings on teams he has told confidants he would be interested in coaching: the Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, and New York Giants,” ESPN wrote.
