Former Clemson linebacker Jeremiah Trotter Jr. is entering the 2024 NFL Draft as one of the best linebackers in the class.

He is the son of a former NFL player, Jeremiah Trotter Sr., and his wife, Tammi Trotter. Both of his parents played a role in his development not only on the field but as a man, too.

Trotter Jr. was born to Tammi and Jeremiah Trotter Sr. in Hainesport Township, New Jersey on Dec. 24, 2022.

Trotter Sr. is one of only four linebackers in Eagles history to make the Pro Bowl four times. The other three players are Chuck Bednarik, Maxie Baughan, and Bill Bergery.

    Getting To Know Tammi Trotter

Tammi Trotter was a major part of Trotter Jr.’s life and has been a major inspiration for him.

Tragically, she passed away from cancer on Feb. 28, 2023.

Trotter Jr. said she fought the cancer very bravely, and that he is confident she is looking down on him now as he is about to hear his name called at the NFL Draft.

“She fought her butt off all the way until the end,” Trotter Jr. told ABC 15 in Conway, South Carolina. “We’re confident that she’s still with us in spirit. She’s still watching over my dad, and me, and my brother, and my sister, and just smiling down and seeing me with the opportunity that I have today.”

As he gets drafted, the lessons and inspiration Trotter Jr. got from his mom’s courageous battle will be with him.
