The 2024 NFL Draft will shine a light on how massive a prospect’s support system really is.
Once cameras point inside a prospect’s home, viewers will witness how big that player’s family is, and that will certainly be the case for Chop Robinson.
A Look at Chop Robinson’s Parents
John and Tracey Robinson hold the title of father and mother of the potential first-round EDGE selection.
The parents witnessed their son dominate the offensive trenches from his rush end spot during his time at State College, Pa. Robinson went on to earn second-team All-American honors while being named to the Bednarik, Lombardi, and Bronko Nagurski Trophy watch lists.
The couple gave birth to Demeioun Robinson on Jan. 2, 2003, in Gaithersburg, Md. Robinson was a rather large baby at birth, with his father telling The Athletic on Aug. 24, 2022, that he came out weighing close to 12 pounds.
He described his son as having a large head and pudgy body — leading to the nickname “pork chop” by one neighbor before ultimately settling for “Chop.” Penn State allowed Robinson to go by “Chop” for its player bios.
From there, Chop Robinson became a household name for the Nittany Lions defense. He went on to deliver 17.5 tackles behind the line of scrimmage for Penn State and collected 9.5 sacks.
Getting To Know Robinson’s Father
John Robinson’s personal life is in the unknown category.
He’s not active on any social media platform. His occupation is also unknown.
However, Chop’s dad was able to verbally illustrate his son’s journey to Penn State, which involved the gut-wrenching decision to enter the transfer portal out of Maryland.
As John described it to The Athletic, his son wasn’t comfortable with being a Terrapin. Chop told his father, “Dad, this is not the place for me.”
Robinson since landed in Happy Valley and established himself as a star for the Nittany Lions as his father and mother watched.
Getting To Know Robinson’s Mother
Much like John, Tracey Robinson is on the incognito side when it comes to being in the spotlight during her son’s NFL trek.
Tracey’s job status, age, number of years married, hometown, etc., are not known publicly. She also doesn’t have a social media presence, just like her husband.
And, Chop doesn’t even have public pictures of him with his mom and dad before or after games that are posted on his social media sites.
If anything, he did thank his entire family on Dec. 5, 2023 — the day he declared for the NFL Draft.

Does Robinson Have Any Siblings?
This is where we circle back to explaining that Chop comes from a large family.
He has nine … that’s right, nine … siblings., as confirmed at the NFL Combine
Despite this, only seven are listed on Penn State’s website. Along with the Penn State star the Robinson males are John Jr., Dejon, Demarr, Arthur, and Artese. The draft prospect also has two sisters named Lucy and Jaliyah.

Brothers Dejon and Demarr are the only known active ones on Instagram, with the former recently re-sharing a draft video involving his brother on his Instagram story.
Regardless, any camera that captures Chop Robinson’s draft moment will likely see how deep his family is. The former Terrapin and Nittany Lion is projected PFN’s consensus NFL mock draft to land at No. 29 to the Detroit Lions.
