After six years combined at Indiana and Washington, quarterback Michael Penix Jr. will soon be finding out his next team in the 2024 NFL Draft.
As Penix waits to hear his name called, he’ll have his girlfriend, Olivia Carter, by his side. Here is everything you need to know about her and their relationship.
Does Michael Penix Have a Girlfriend?
Penix has become one of the biggest names in the 2024 NFL Draft because of his success as a quarterback.
After starting his career in Indiana, he transferred to Washington, where his playing career truly took off. He has won both the Maxwell and AP Comeback Player of the Year awards and was an All-American and a two-time second-team All-Pac-12.
However, he also found his girlfriend, Olivia Carter, during his time in Washington.
A Look at Penix and Carter’s Relationship Timeline
Penix was born May 8, 2000, in Cookeville, Tenn., but he was raised in Dade City, Fla. He attended Tampa Bay Technical High School, where he became a three-star prospect, according to 247Sports.
However, it wasn’t until Penix transferred to Washington that he met Carter. Carter played soccer and basketball at Kent-Meridian High School in Kent, Wash., graduating in 2018.
She attended the University of Nevada, where she played soccer and studied biochemistry, according to her page on the team website. She graduated in early 2022 and moved back to Seattle, where she met Penix, who joined the Huskies that same year.
While she’s posted him on her Instagram story on plenty of occasions, her one non-football-related post involving Penix came on Christmas in 2023, when she posted, “All I want for Christmas is you.” The post included a handful of pictures of the two together.

There’s no specific date on when the two began dating, but they have been very active in spending time together and spoiling each other in recent months. Carter regularly posts about Penix on her story.

Carter is the daughter of Christopher and Regina Carter and has two siblings, an older and a younger brother. Her older brother, Quincy Carter, played football at Central Washington University.
According to Nevada’s website, she picked the Wolf Pack because of the coaches and their vision, as well as the “tight-knit feel” community and campus size. She played basketball, soccer, and track during her high school career before committing to just soccer in college.
