We’re a week out from the NFL Draft, and the excitement continues to build. In this latest 2024 NFL Mock Draft, trades dominate the first three rounds, with one team moving up to secure their quarterback of the future.
2024 NFL Mock Draft | Round 1
1) Chicago Bears (From CAR): Caleb Williams, QB, USC
The only thing that would shock us at this point is if the Chicago Bears take anyone other than Caleb Williams. The former USC quarterback is the future of the franchise and would take over an offense that was upgraded by trading for Keenan Allen.
Williams’ skill set should help him thrive early in the NFL. While he gets comfortable as a passer with his new team, Williams’ ability to escape pressure and keep plays alive will help him tremendously. He put on a show in college, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him do the same with the Bears.
2) Washington Commanders: Jayden Daniels, QB, LSU
Who’s going to be the second quarterback taken in the draft? That remains the biggest question, and it seems to be a rotating answer depending on the week.
LSU’s Jayden Daniels remains in that conversation, and the Lamar Jackson comps continue to spark debate.
Daniels isn’t Jackson; let’s just settle those debates. They share some similarities, but the comparisons don’t do either player justice. Daniels will be fun to watch with the Commanders, and Kliff Kingsbury should know how to utilize his tools in the offense.
3) New England Patriots: Drake Maye, QB, North Carolina
With trade offers on the horizon, the New England Patriots’ draft strategy will include whether or not to keep this pick. Since quarterback is a huge need, New England holds firm in this 2024 NFL Mock Draft.
Drake Maye remaining on the board makes this an easy decision for the Patriots. The former Tar Heel stands 6’4″ and 223 pounds, giving him the right frame to compete in the NFL. Maye’s arm talent should elevate the Patriots’ offense, and his underrated running abilities should get him out of pressure situations.
4) Arizona Cardinals: Marvin Harrison Jr., WR, Ohio State
It’s going to come down to which wide receiver the Cardinals like, but don’t be surprised if Arizona entertains trade offers. With a talented receiver class, Arizona doesn’t have to take one this early. It’s just going to be challenging to pass on the top options.
Marvin Harrison Jr. didn’t participate in the NFL Combine, but he didn’t need to for teams to want him. It turned out to be a smart decision, forcing teams to trust what they see on film rather than worry about testing numbers. Harrison gives the Cardinals a vertical threat who singlehandedly changes their offense.
5) Los Angeles Chargers: Malik Nabers, WR, LSU
Jim Harbaugh and the Chargers organization have work to do, and one of their biggest priorities is addressing who will catch the ball from Justin Herbert. With Quentin Johnston struggling and Mike Williams and Keenan Allen departing, receiver is a big need.

In this 2024 NFL Mock Draft, the Chargers give their franchise QB an explosive player who can ease concerns about the passing attack. Malik Nabers and his explosive speed come to Los Angeles, giving them a younger player who will open up the offense for everyone around him.
6) New York Giants: Rome Odunze, WR, Washington
As the Giants continue evaluating their QB situation, they could add another to the mix in the draft. If they stick with Daniel Jones, they can look at other positions to help the oft-maligned sixth-year signal-caller.
Rome Odunze could be the top receiver in many other classes, but he just happens to be in a talented class with two elite players ahead of him. At 6’3″ and 215 pounds, he brings good size to the Giants’ offense.
Odunze is already drawing rave reviews from people in the NFL, with many thinking he’ll be in the league for a long time.
7) Tennessee Titans: Joe Alt, OT, Notre Dame
Even with free agency additions, the Tennessee Titans are still considering an offensive line selection in the draft. And with Joe Alt still available in this 2024 NFL Mock Draft, the Titans fill a big need with a massive player.
Alt is a great pass protector, which will help give quarterback Will Levis plenty of time to showcase his skill set and give the Titans a more balanced offense.
8) Las Vegas Raiders (From ATL): J.J. McCarthy, QB, Michigan
Trade: The Las Vegas Raiders receive the eighth overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft; the Atlanta Falcons receive picks 13, 44, and 77.
Someone will trade up for a quarterback, and in this 2024 NFL Mock Draft, it’s the Las Vegas Raiders. With J.J. McCarthy still on the board, the Raiders take a chance on a guy who has plenty to prove at the next level.
He’s a mobile quarterback with intriguing tools as a passer, but there will be questions about McCarthy’s ability to be more of a factor in the offense. Throwing to Davante Adams certainly makes his job a lot easier.
9) Chicago Bears: Dallas Turner, EDGE, Alabama
With their quarterback of the future secured, the Bears add a difference-maker on defense.
Dallas Turner is a freak athletically, and his talent boosts a defense that already features Montez Sweat. With teams focusing on the veteran Sweat, Turner should have plenty of opportunities ahead of him in 2024.
10) New York Jets: Olumuyiwa Fashanu, OT, Penn State
This is a tough spot for the New York Jets, but they have options regardless of what path they choose.
They need another offensive weapon, but they also need help on the line. Keeping Aaron Rodgers healthy is vital to their success, so adding a talented protector in Olu Fashanu makes the most sense.
11) Minnesota Vikings: Laiatu Latu, EDGE, UCLA
With the top four quarterbacks off the board, the Minnesota Vikings decide to sit tight and wait for their guy. Instead, they add a replacement for Danielle Hunter in this 2024 NFL Mock Draft.

Some consider Laiatu Latu to be the top edge player in the draft, so his selection should excite the Vikings’ fan base. He brings plenty of experience and adds a good skill set to Brian Flores’ system.
12) Denver Broncos: Troy Fautanu, OT, Washington
This is a tough spot for the Broncos. They’re at the mercy of the teams ahead of them and don’t have much draft capital to move up.
So, does Denver reach for a quarterback here? It seems more likely that they’d trade back if they want to address the QB position, but here, they address another need.
Troy Fautanu can play guard and tackle, and the Broncos could use a pick that gives them versatility. He gives his new team a reliable player who can help the offense, leaving Denver to figure out who he’ll protect this year.
13) Atlanta Falcons (From LV): Quinyon Mitchell, CB, Toledo
With the Falcons adding Kirk Cousins and Darnell Mooney this offseason, they have draft flexibility. Atlanta’s top needs are on the defensive side of the ball, and trading back allows them to gain more picks to address them.
Quinyon Mitchell should be a great fit in the Falcons’ defense. His stock shot up this offseason, and all he’s done is confirm that he should be considered the top cornerback in this class.
14) New Orleans Saints: Taliese Fuaga, OT, Oregon State
Protecting Derek Carr remains a big priority for the Saints, and what better way to do that than by adding an absolute brick wall at tackle?
Taliese Fuaga didn’t allow much to get past him in college, and thanks to this 2024 NFL Mock Draft, he joins a Saints offense needing stability at the position.
15) Indianapolis Colts: Brock Bowers, TE, Georgia
With the return of Anthony Richardson, the Colts look to build upon that excitement by adding another weapon for him. Brock Bowers adds to a promising group of pass catchers for Indianapolis, and he’ll be utilized in various ways that will stress the opposing defense.
16) Seattle Seahawks: Johnny Newton, DT, Illinois
The Seattle Seahawks’ front line has playmakers, but they need help on the interior part of that line. Johnny Newton is a force at defensive tackle, but he can also give the Seahawks an end when needed.
Newton thrived at Illinois thanks to his power and athleticism, and he’ll give his new team a disruptive weapon.
17) Jacksonville Jaguars: Terrion Arnold, CB, Alabama
Although the Jacksonville Jaguars need to add a receiver, they also need help defending the pass. Jacksonville finished 26th in pass defense last year, so they look to upgrade the back end of their defense in this 2024 NFL Mock Draft.

Thanks to his mindset, Terrion Arnold infuses competition into his new team. Arnold refuses to lose, which will be a big reason for his success. He’s still learning as a corner, but his trajectory is headed in the right direction.
18) Cincinnati Bengals: Amarius Mims, OT, Georgia
Even with their offseason moves to replace Jonah Williams, the Cincinnati Bengals need a tackle. Amarius Mims is one of the more intriguing prospects at his position, but he must find a way to stay healthy. If he can, Mims would be an incredible value, and the Bengals’ offense could move on from Williams without blinking an eye.
19) Los Angeles Rams: Nate Wiggins, CB, Clemson
Following Aaron Donald’s retirement, the Los Angeles Rams should focus on defense, especially on the front line. However, a cornerback is also needed, and Nate Wiggins‘ presence on the board is too good to pass up.
He’s a fast corner who exceeded expectations at the NFL Combine and throughout his time at Clemson. The former Tigers corner quickly saw the field in college, and he’s hoping to do the same with the Rams.
20) Pittsburgh Steelers: JC Latham, OT, Alabama
With Russell Wilson solving the Steelers’ quarterback need, they look to add a tackle who can be a difference maker. The skill positions are set, but the offensive line needs to step up if this offense wants to do damage.
JC Latham brings a big frame to the Steelers’ offense, and his style of play should fit well with his new team. He also has experience at guard, which provides depth if Pittsburgh needs him in a pinch.
21) Detroit Lions (From MIA): Jared Verse, EDGE, Florida State
Trade: The Detroit Lions receive the 21st overall pick; the Miami Dolphins receive picks 29 and 61.
Late-round trades are so interesting, and the Detroit Lions make a surprising move in this 2024 NFL Mock Draft. They need to boost the talent level on their defense, and they start by adding a terrifying partner for Aidan Hutchinson.
Offensive coordinators putting together a game plan for this defense is already tough, but now they must account for both Hutchinson and Jared Verse. This would be one of the best duos in the league, and Verse would thrive given that teams will focus their attention on his Pro Bowl teammate.
22) Philadelphia Eagles: Kool-Aid McKinstry, CB, Alabama
While the Eagles must improve the secondary in the draft, they don’t necessarily have to move up to do so. With teams needing other positions, quality corners could fall to them with this pick.
Kool-Aid McKinstry comes to the Eagles’ secondary to help but also learn. He’ll consume everything the veterans can give him and compete right off the bat for a starting spot.
23) Minnesota Vikings (From HOU): Michael Penix Jr., QB, Washington
The Vikings are rewarded for their patience, with Michael Penix Jr. falling to them later in the first round of this 2024 NFL Mock Draft. This team needs a quarterback, but they don’t have to overpay to get one.

Penix joins an offense that features Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, and T.J. Hockenson, so he should find that throwing to them is similar to what he experienced in college (only better).
24) Dallas Cowboys: Tyler Guyton, OT, Oklahoma
With Tyron Smith gone, the Dallas Cowboys look to fill a big void on the line. Tyler Smith could slide out to tackle, but they can also keep him where he is by adding someone in the draft.
Tyler Guyton brings a solid frame to the line and is a developing player with plenty of promise. He’ll be a great replacement for their veteran departure and will gain a ton of knowledge from the experienced group he joins.
25) Atlanta Falcons (From GB): Chop Robinson, EDGE, Penn State
Trade: The Falcons receive pick 25 in the 2024 NFL Draft; the Green Bay Packers receive picks 43 and 44.
This 2024 NFL Mock Draft is excellent for the Falcons. After adding a corner earlier in the draft, they also find a quality player on the edge of their defense later in the first round.
Chop Robinson has the athleticism to be a menace in the league, but he must figure out how to be more of a force against the run. He has the explosiveness to terrorize tackles rushing the passer, and he just needs to apply that to stopping the run to grow his game.
26) Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Cooper DeJean, DB, Iowa
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have needs at cornerback and safety, so who better to fill those roles than a player who can do both? Cooper DeJean has been projected at both positions, and he’ll help the Bucs’ defense in multiple ways should this 2024 NFL Mock Draft become a reality.
27) Buffalo Bills (From ARI): Brian Thomas Jr., WR, LSU
Trade: The Buffalo Bills receive the 27th pick of the 2024 NFL Draft; the Cardinals receive picks 28 and 144.
With Stefon Diggs off to Houston, the Buffalo Bills need a receiver. Thanks to a talented class, they don’t have to rush to get one on the roster. Brian Thomas Jr. still sits on the board in this 2024 NFL Mock Draft, and his speed should be a great addition to the Bills offense.
28) Arizona Cardinals (From BUF): Darius Robinson, EDGE, Missouri
Trade: The Buffalo Bills receive the 27th pick of the 2024 NFL Draft; the Cardinals receive picks 28 and 144.
The Cardinals’ defense has multiple needs, and getting to the quarterback is one of them. Darius Robinson remains a fringe first-round talent, and he gives Arizona a good edge player who can set the tone up front.
29) Miami Dolphins: Byron Murphy II, DT, Texas
Trade: The Detroit Lions receive the 21st overall pick; the Miami Dolphins receive picks 29 and 61.
Trade: DET receives pick No. 21, MIA receives pick No. 29 and pick No. 61
With Christian Wilkins gone, the Miami Dolphins look for cheaper options at the defensive tackle position. Johnny Newton is off the board already, but they’ll happily take Byron Murphy II. The former Texas Longhorn has explosive traits, and he shouldn’t waste time competing for a starting spot quickly.
30) Baltimore Ravens: Tyler Nubin, S, Minnesota
Baltimore already has a promising young safety in Kyle Hamilton, and now they pair him with another. Tyler Nubin was a massive part of an underrated defense at Minnesota, and he’ll be a great pair with Hamilton and the rest of the Ravens’ secondary.
31) San Francisco 49ers: Adonai Mitchell, WR, Texas
If the 49ers can’t figure something out with Brandon Aiyuk, receiver rockets up their list of draft needs. With Adonai Mitchell sitting on the board, this decision shouldn’t be too difficult. He’s an underrated prospect with a great skill set and would lessen the blow if Aiyuk goes elsewhere in the future.

32) Kansas City Chiefs: Keon Coleman, WR, Florida State
While he didn’t post the best testing numbers this offseason, there’s still plenty to like about Keon Coleman. His 40-yard dash time disappointed, but his film suggests that he runs faster than that. The Kansas City Chiefs need a receiver, and Coleman is a solid option late in the first round.
