Revisiting Lassiter’s College Career
During his true freshman season in 2021, Lassiter played in all 15 games for the Bulldogs, tallying 11 total tackles and an interception.
In 2022, Lassiter’s role increased, starting 15 games and making 38 total tackles. During his final season in 2023, Lassiter had 37 total tackles.
Lassiter finished his Georgia career as a two-time CFP National Championship winner. He has 14 career pass breakups and was voted to the 2023 All-SEC second team.
Lassiter’s Potential in the NFL
While winning two national championships in college is nothing short of impressive, the real work starts now for Lassiter.
As one of the more versatile prospects in this draft class, Lassiter should be able to provide starting abilities for press-man, zone-man, and zone-heavy teams, according to his scouting report.
Pro Football Network draft analyst Ian Cummings has Lassiter as a top-75 prospect in this draft. While his slender frame could scare some teams away and prevent him from starting Day 1, he has more than enough physical talent to eventually grow into a bigger role.
“Kamari Lassiter grades out as a top-75 prospect in the 2024 NFL Draft. He’s one of the better, more versatile CB prospects in the class, and he should be able to provide starting utility for press-man, off-man, and zone-heavy teams,” Cummings wrote.
“Lassiter isn’t an overwhelming size threat, and he doesn’t quite have elite size-adjusted athleticism. But with Lassiter, there’s a very sound confluence of natural talent and intangible strength, and that should help him thrive at the NFL level.
“In press-man, Lassiter is a fleet-footed mover with great targeted physicality, tenacity, and discipline. He has a solid pedal and catch arsenal in off-man, and in side-saddle and zone, he’s a smooth mover with sharp eyes and a quick trigger.”
