Adonai Mitchell heads into the 2024 NFL Draft as one of several intriguing talents in a loaded wide receiver class that could see quite a few players selected in the early going. Let’s take a look at everything to know about the explosive prospect.
How Tall Is Adonai Mitchell?
Mitchell measured in at 6’2 1/4″ at the NFL Combine, a strong size among many of his counterparts at wide receiver. He also came in at a 77 5/8-inch wingspan, 32 3/8-inch arm length, with nine-inch hands.
How Much Does Mitchell Weigh?
Mitchell also weighed in at 205 pounds at the Combine, nine pounds heavier than the 196 he was listed at in college.
Mitchell’s athleticism is all the more impressive at that size, alongside his fluidity and general prowess as a route runner despite having a larger frame than a good chunk of wide receivers.
How Old Is Mitchell?
Mitchell is 21 years old and was born on Oct. 8, 2002, in Missouri City, Texas, which is southwest of Houston. He initially attended Ridge Point High School before transferring to Cane Ridge High in Tennessee to get more exposure.
What School Did Mitchell Go To?
Mitchell spent the first two years of his college career (2021 and 2022) at Georgia after being ranked as a three-star recruit coming out of high school. He then transferred to Texas in 2023 for his junior season, aiming to build up his draft stock.
Revisiting Mitchell’s College Career
As part of the Bulldogs winning back-to-back national titles, Mitchell was solid in his two seasons at Georgia, catching a total of 38 passes for 560 yards and seven touchdowns across 21 games, including 15 starts, as injuries limited much of his sophomore year in 2022.
Mitchell then transferred to Texas aiming to boost his draft stock and did just that with a standout junior season.
As a junior, he racked up 55 catches for 845 yards and 11 touchdowns on the year, helping lead the Longhorns to their first College Football Playoff appearance.
Mitchell’s Potential in the NFL
Mitchell has garnered plenty of praise during the pre-draft process for his enticing athleticism, particularly given his sizable frame. That, combined with his strong 2023 season at Texas, has vaulted Mitchell up to potential first-round pick status depending on his fit with certain teams.
Pro Football Network draft analyst Ian Cummings has Mitchell rated as his No. 26 prospect overall on his big board and the fifth-best WR prospect in a loaded class that also features Marvin Harrison Jr. and Malik Nabers.
Cummings also had plenty of praise for Mitchell in his scouting report:
“For teams needing an X-receiver with rare 1-on-1 separation skills, Mitchell is worth mid-to-late Round 1 consideration. But he won’t be for every team.
“It’s ultimately up to what each team needs and how they intend to use their WR targets to decipher whether or not Mitchell is a fit. There’s also the question of inconsistent effort and how teams feel about his ability to maximize his output on a down-to-down basis.
“Mitchell isn’t as variable as most receiver prospects in the 2024 NFL Draft, nor is he as much of a threat after the catch. But he has an elite athletic profile, and as an X-receiver, does two things at a very high level. Mitchell separates, and he catches the football.
“At just 21 years old, Mitchell is already a surgical route runner with size-defying flexibility, bend, footwork efficiency, and hinge fluidity. And he packs in his explosiveness, forward-pressing speed, agility, and twitch, physicality, and nuance to further confound defenders in 1-on-1 situations.

“Mitchell has a full route tree, a full route-running framework, and the athleticism to threaten vertically and create extra space. Meanwhile, at the catch point, he has some of the surest, most coordinated hands in the class and is exceptional at contorting his body and timing his extensions.
“With a long 6’2 1/4″ frame, Mitchell is exceptional across the board, from explosiveness and speed to route running, instincts, and physicality. If he can continue to cut down on occasional inefficiencies and lulls in late-snap effort, the sky is the limit.
“Ultimately, Mitchell has the tools and unique separation ability to grow into an impact starter at the X-receiver spot, with projected versatility gleaned from his athleticism, and his high-end blocking ability will be an added boon for an NFL team.”
