Following his performance in Week 18 last season, Wentz likely earned the opportunity to back up superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes in 2024.

While the Chiefs have re-signed several of their former starters this offseason, Donovan Smith remains available on the free agent market. NFL Announced Performance-Based Pay Distributions for 2023
As the Chiefs continue to work through their situation at left tackle, one of their current starting offensive linemen was rewarded with a hefty bonus on Monday.
The NFL announced their performance-based pay distributions for last season, and KC guard Trey Smith earned one of the biggest bonuses. Smith received the seventh-largest bonus, earning $865,484 for his performance in his third NFL season.
