Malik Nabers has long been regarded as one of the top wide receivers available in the 2024 NFL Draft due to his freakish athleticism and impressive exploits during his time at LSU. Nabers again impressed the NFL world on Wednesday by showcasing his explosiveness with impressive numbers at LSU’s Pro Day.
Malik Nabers’ Explosive Pro Day Impresses NFL World
Nabers turned heads Wednesday after posting an unofficial 4.35-second 40-yard dash, 42-inch vertical jump, and a broad jump of 10 feet, 9 inches. The numbers were not unexpected after Nabers has showcased such explosiveness time and again on the field, but they’re impressive numbers to officially see nonetheless.
Pro Football Network Draft Analyst Ian Cummings said the numbers are just the latest illustration of Nabers’ “hyper-elite explosiveness and dynamic ability.”
LSU WR Malik Nabers pro day numbers:
– 4.35 40-yard dash
– 42" vertical, 10'9" broad jumpDidn't need numbers to confirm, but it's good to have them, regardless. Hyper-elite explosiveness and dynamic ability.

Those numbers supplement a strong track record of collegiate production from Nabers.
He caught 89 passes for 1,569 yards and 14 touchdowns last season as Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels‘ top target. Nabers also had 72 catches for 1,017 yards and three touchdowns in 2022 after posting 28 catches for 417 yards and four scores as a freshman back in 2021.
After declining to measure at the Combine, Nabers measured in at 6’0″ and 199 pounds at LSU’s Pro Day.
ESPN’s Field Yates called Nabers “the most explosive player” in the 2024 NFL Draft class due to what he is able to accomplish with that frame.

Is Nabers WR1 in the 2024 Class?
Although Nabers may well be the most explosive player in the 2024 draft class, is he the top wide receiver prospect?
There has been buzz growing that Nabers could be picked ahead of Marvin Harrison Jr. next month. Harrison has been the consensus top wide receiver prospect for most of the pre-draft process, but ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that is no longer the case.

The Athletic’s NFL Draft Analyst Dane Brugler echoed Schefter’s statement on X (formerly known as Twitter), and even took it a step further, saying, “There are some who believe Malik Nabers is the draft class’ top player.”
PFN’s Cummings has Nabers ranked as the second-best wide receiver in the class and sixth overall prospect on his big board, trailing his No. 1 overall prospect, Harrison. Rome Odunze also comes in at ninth overall and third among wide receivers, rounding out a fairly clear top three at the position.
Although he may not be the consensus top WR prospect, Nabers is certainly highly regarded and projected as a likely top-10 pick, depending on how everything shakes out on draft night. PFN’s Dallas Robinson has Nabers going sixth overall to the New York Giants in a recent mock draft.
Reports have surfaced that Nabers has already met with the Giants, Tennessee Titans, and New England Patriots on Tuesday and is slated to meet with the Arizona Cardinals on Wednesday, according to Sports Illustrated’s Zack Nagy.
Any number of teams could ultimately land Nabers depending on their draft-night priorities, but it’s clear that he’s one of the most highly regarded receivers in this class and could end up the most successful of them all.
