It was a mad dash to secure top-end QB talent in this 2024 NFL Mock Draft, as teams traded up hoping to find their franchise’s field general of the future. Four QBs were picked in the top seven, with five going overall, but OL took the crown with nine first-round selections despite a late arrival to the festivities.
With the PFN Mock Draft Simulator (MDS), you can be the general manager for your favorite team, and every team, or you can even let the sim roll and discover the potential scenarios of the NFL’s annual selection event. That’s exactly what we did for this 2024 NFL Mock Draft.
2024 NFL Mock Draft
1) Chicago Bears (From CAR): Caleb Williams, QB, USC
Speculation has swirled about what the Chicago Bears would do with the top pick, but the Bears’ front office (and fans) have had their eyes on Caleb Williams since their clock unofficially started when the regular season ended. An organization desperate for a game-changer behind center finally has its man in this 2024 NFL Mock Draft.
A creative playmaker with dynamic running skills and elite arm strength, Chicago may have snagged its first franchise QB this century.
2) Washington Commanders: Drake Maye, QB, North Carolina
There is a new owner, coach, and now a new QB in Washington.
A more than serviceable consolation to the top pick, the Commanders secure Drake Maye to command their offense and help usher in a new era in D.C. He doesn’t own a Heisman Trophy like Williams, but he makes up for what he lacks on his resume with impeccable intangibles.
MORE: NFL Offense Rankings
Maye has the prototypical size (6’4″, 223 pounds) and arm strength of a pocket passer while still generating enough velocity to make off-platform throws.
3) New England Patriots: J.J. McCarthy, QB, Michigan
This 2024 NFL Mock Draft started according to consensus before the New England Patriots jumped on the clock and tossed the first curveball. The Patriots decide to pounce on a top QB prospect, and they come away with Michigan’s J.J. McCarthy in hopes of another Wolverines alum leading them to glory.
McCarthy doesn’t have the accolades or the intangibles of the first two picks. Still, he possesses impressive velocity generation and is mechanically sound, and he is a proven winner coming off a CFP National Championship.
4) Arizona Cardinals: Marvin Harrison Jr., WR, Ohio State
Three QBs in the first three picks of this 2024 NFL Mock Draft make way for the Arizona Cardinals to take arguably the best overall prospect available with Marvin Harrison Jr.
The son of Pro Football Hall of Fame WR Marvin Harrison Sr., Harrison Jr. is considered the top prospect in a deep WR class after demonstrating high-end speed, violent physicality against press coverage, and an aerodynamic frame with dominating length.
Possessing elite size (6’3″ and 209 pounds), skills, and pedigree for a WR that has already proven at the college level that he can elevate mediocre quarterback play, Harrison should improve the Cardinals the day he steps into their locker room.
5) Los Angeles Chargers: Joe Alt, OT, Notre Dame
While WR is a definite need, the Los Angeles Chargers opt to further protect Justin Herbert by fortifying their OL. The Chargers have their pick of the OL litter in this 2024 NFL Mock Draft and decide to take Notre Dame’s mountainous tackle, Joe Alt.
For a man of his stature (6’8″ and 321 pounds), Alt explodes off the ball with tenacity and possesses surprisingly fluid athleticism as a former tight end.
6) New York Giants: Olumuyiwa Fashanu, OT, Penn State
The New York Giants have a plethora of needs to address, specifically at QB and WR. With three QBs taken and its top WR option, Harrison, off the board, New York decides now is the best time to secure a top-tier OL prospect with Penn State big man Olumuyiwa Fashanu.
Fashanu hasn’t attracted the same attention as some other OTs this Draft cycle, but his impressive technique, high football IQ, and walloping size (6’6″ and 312 pounds) place him just outside the top five in this 2024 NFL Mock Draft.
7) Las Vegas Raiders (From TEN): Jayden Daniels, QB, LSU
Trade: The Raiders receive the seventh overall pick of the 2024 NFL Draft; the Titans receive picks 13, 44, and 77.
The Tennessee Titans weren’t on the clock long as they traded out of the top 10. The Las Vegas Raiders take advantage of an opportunity to jump ahead of other teams with QB needs like the Minnesota Vikings and the Denver Broncos, parting with pick No. 13, a second-round pick, and a third-rounder to move up five spots.
Reuniting new head coach Antonio Pierce with his former player at Arizona State, Jayden Daniels, the Raiders hope Gardner Minshew II can add stability and mentorship for a developing rookie as he did with Anthony Richardson and the Indianapolis Colts last season.
8) Atlanta Falcons: Terrion Arnold, CB, Alabama
Locking in Kirk Cousins into a four-year, $180 million deal affords the Atlanta Falcons the luxury of focusing on the other side of the ball. With the choice of the field on all of the defensive prospects, the Falcons make Terrion Arnold the first defender off the board.
MORE: NFL Defense Rankings
Obtaining the first defensive choice without moving up is a favorable scenario for the Falcons, bringing them a ready-made shutdown corner in the Alabama product.
9) New York Jets (From Chi): Malik Nabers, WR, LSU
Trade: The Jets receive the ninth overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft; the Bears receive picks 10, 72, and a 2025 fourth-round pick.
Knowing that the New York Jets are coveting a WR and seeing only one off the board through the first eight picks, the Chicago Bears apply pressure on the Jets by threatening to take the best available WR, LSU’s Malik Nabers, one pick before them.
With their backs against the wall, the Jets reluctantly trade up one spot. Despite costing an extra third-round pick this year and a 2025 fourth-round pick, the Jets get their target with Nabers, a lightning-quick vertical threat with top-notch body control.
10) Chicago Bears (From NYJ): Laiatu Latu, EDGE, UCLA
Trade: The Bears receive picks 10 and 72 in the 2024 NFL Draft and a 2025 fourth-round pick; the Jets receive the ninth overall pick.
Having just fleeced the New York Jets, the Chicago Bears amazingly have their pick of the top EDGE rushers available. With a passer already in hand, the Bears grab a pass rusher to complement the other side of the ball with Laiatu Latu.
In this 2024 NFL Mock Draft, the Bears are getting a relentless, explosive attacker with great size (6’4″, 260 pounds), agility, and bend.
11) Minnesota Vikings: Brian Thomas Jr., WR, LSU
The Minnesota Vikings had a few QBs circled at No. 11, but those options are no longer available, with four QBs taken in the top seven. While tempted to pull the trigger on another option available behind center, the Vikings grab a pass-catching weapon in hopes of securing their next QB later.
Brian Thomas Jr. is a bit of a reach this early, but the Vikings were enamored by his supremely fluid route running with enough physicality and length (6’3”) to win 50/50 balls in the red zone. While the franchise has vehemently denied recent Justin Jefferson trade rumors, Thomas provides a long-term option for a worst-case scenario for Minnesota.
12) Denver Broncos: Dallas Turner, EDGE, Alabama
With their top offensive choices already taken, the Denver Broncos have plenty of needs and decide to address the defensive ones first with Alabama EDGE Dallas Turner.
Impressed by Turner’s elite reach, an uncommon combination of explosiveness and bend, and his strong NFL Combine showing, the Broncos can’t pass him up.
13) Tennessee Titans (From LV): Amarius Mims, OT, Georgia
Trade: The Titans receive picks 13, 44, and 77 in the 2024 NFL Draft; the Raiders receive the seventh overall pick.
Confident in QB Will Levis, the Titans took advantage of others’ desperation for a signal-caller and secured more draft capital with a savvy trade to move back to 13. Two offensive linemen were taken just before the Titans’ initial pick, but with none taken since, Tennessee gets the next best available despite moving back in Georgia OT Amarius Mims.
Mims has untapped potential and exceptional talent, but a selection this high may be considered somewhat shocking given his injury history and relative inexperience. Still, his towering size (6’7″, 340 pounds) and dominating athleticism fit perfectly in Tennessee.
14) New Orleans Saints: Taliese Fuaga, OT, Oregon State
Not wanting to be left out of the OL party as it gets started, the New Orleans Saints join in the mix by taking Oregon State tackle Taliese Fuaga.
MORE: NFL Post-Free Agency Power Rankings
Despite concerns with his length prompting iOL consideration, Fuaga is a ferocious blocker who erupts off the ball and plays relentlessly through the whistle.
15) Indianapolis Colts: Brock Bowers, TE, Georgia
The Indianapolis Colts stayed calm as they watched one of the top TE prospects the last few years fall to them at pick No. 15 in this 2024 NFL Mock Draft.
Brock Bowers is a ready-made starter who brings reliability, physicality, and a high football IQ. He also has impressive speed for his size (6’3″, 245 pounds), which should make for a nice security blanket for second-year QB Anthony Richardson.
16) Seattle Seahawks: Jackson Powers-Johnson, OL, Oregon
The Seattle Seahawks decide some enhanced protection for QB Geno Smith is in order by taking Jackson Powers-Johnson at pick No. 16 of this 2024 NFL Mock Draft.
A quick accelerator and lateral-mover, Powers-Johnson is going much earlier than you’d expect for a center, but here, talent outweighs the traditional perceived positional value.
17) Jacksonville Jaguars: Rome Odunze, WR, Washington
As Trevor Lawrence’s impending contract negotiations loom, along with the arrival of Mac Jones via trade, the Jacksonville Jaguars give both QBs a puncher’s chance by reinforcing their receiving arsenal with a highly rated and extremely talented pass catcher in Washington’s Rome Odunze.
With exemplary route running skills and masterful hands, Odunze would be a top 10 pick in most drafts, but he falls to the Jaguars with this cycle’s abundance of top-tier WRs and a QB carousel in the top 10.
18) Cincinnati Bengals: Troy Fautanu, OL, Washington
Protecting Joe Burrow is paramount to the Cincinnati Bengals, and they decide the best way to do that is to infuse the OL with the addition of Washington offensive lineman Troy Fautanu.
Fresh off a College Football Playoff National Championship appearance, Fautanu goes a little early here, but the Bengals are getting one of the best offensive linemen available in the second half of the first round.
19) Los Angeles Rams: Jared Verse, EDGE, Florida State
The usually offensive-minded Sean McVay chooses to shore up the Los Angeles Rams’ pass rush and takes advantage of Florida State’s Jared Verse almost falling out of the top 20.
With QBs, WRs, and OL the soup du jour thus far, a high-octane rusher with seemingly endless pursuit energy and impressive size at 6’4″, 254 pounds inexplicably falls to the Rams.
20) Pittsburgh Steelers: JC Latham, OT, Alabama
After securing options behind center this offseason, the Pittsburgh Steelers still need help along the line of scrimmage. With six other offensive linemen already taken, including four in the last seven picks, the Steelers find tremendous value with Alabama OT JC Latham falling to pick No. 20.
MORE: 2024 NFL Combine Results — 40-Yard Dash, Bench Press, Vertical, 3-Cone, and More
A massive prospect (6’6″, 305 pounds) that explodes off the line, Latham is a dominating anchor that thrives in pass sets.
21) Miami Dolphins: Kool-Aid McKinstry, CB, Alabama
With just one corner off the board, the Miami Dolphins pursue that position of need over others and grab Alabama CB Kool-Aid McKinstry.
A slight surprise with other corners like Nate Wiggins and Quinyon Mitchell available, Miami coveted an experienced, steady corner that routinely finds himself in the right place at the right time.
22) Philadelphia Eagles: Keon Coleman, WR, Florida State
The Philadelphia Eagles have a solid WR core already in place, which would ease the pressure on a young WR to perform right away while offering great examples to learn from during development. That was the Eagles’ thought process in this 2024 NFL Mock Draft as they select Florida State WR Keon Coleman.
A less than desirable Combine showing didn’t bother Philadelphia as they were thrilled with his effortless acceleration and rangy but physical size (6″3″, 213 pounds).
23) Minnesota Vikings (From HOU): Bo Nix, QB, Oregon
In a trade before the 2024 NFL Draft, the Vikings wanted two cracks at a first-round pick, hoping to land a quarterback with one of them. When options were limited as four QBs went in the top seven, Minnesota decided to wait and grab an offensive weapon with WR Thomas at pick No. 11.
Minnesota’s patience paid off, with Bo Nix being the fifth QB in this 2024 NFL Mock Draft. His lack of arm strength had him projected to potentially fall out of the first round, but his high football IQ, savvy ball handling, and creativity in the pocket prove alluring to the Vikings.
24) Dallas Cowboys: Johnny Newton, DT, Illinois
With just five players on defense taken in the first 23 picks, the Dallas Cowboys pounce on a chance to harness some physicality on their DL with Illinois DT Jer’Zhan “Johnny” Newton.
A tenacious defensive tackle with violent hands and rare quickness despite his 304-pound frame, Newton could be an early rotational player for an already top-five defense in Dallas.
25) Green Bay Packers: Nate Wiggins, CB, Clemson
A plethora of offensive players flying off the board leaves the Green Bay Packers with plenty of options on the defensive side of the field. They take the fastest one available, grabbing the Clemson CB, Wiggins.
Clocking the second-fastest 40-yard dash at the 2024 NFL Combine (4.29 seconds), Wiggins isn’t just a speedster, boasting top-level route recognition and coverage instincts
26) Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Chop Robinson, EDGE, Penn State
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have fielded some of football’s most fearsome pass rushers, and they are hoping they found one more late in the first round with Penn State EDGE Chop Robinson.
MORE: 2024 NFL Draft Scouting Reports
A dense, explosive pass rusher with loads of burst, twitch, and a violent first step, Robinson is the fourth EDGE off the board as defense starts gaining traction toward the conclusion of the round.
27) Arizona Cardinals (From HOU): Cooper DeJean, CB, Iowa
A fourth consecutive defensive selection, the Cardinals snap up Iowa CB Cooper DeJean, looking to bolster a defense that finished 24th in total yards allowed last year.
DeJean proved his worth as an elite collegiate corner, but his top-notch physicality and size (6’1”, 209 pounds) have him projected as a safety in the NFL.
28) Buffalo Bills: Xavier Worthy, WR, Texas
The Buffalo Bills decide they feel the need … the need for speed after watching Top Gun, erm, I mean, Xavier Worthy smash the NFL Combine 40-yard dash record in a blazing 4.21 seconds.
Worthy has question marks on his size, weighing in at just 165 pounds, but an impressive route tree and record-setting speed catapult him into the first round.
29) Detroit Lions: Quinyon Mitchell, CB, Toledo
One of the more surprising falls in the draft, the ever-defensive-minded Dan Campbell can’t let Mitchell drop any further as the Detroit Lions pick up the Toledo CB.
A proven ball-hawk with six picks in the last two seasons matched with elite recovery speed, Mitchell is a versatile DB who can play anywhere in the defensive backfield.
30) Arizona Cardinals (From BAL): Byron Murphy II, DT, Texas
Trade: The Cardinals receive the 30th pick in the 2024 NFL Draft; the Ravens receive picks 35 and 71.
Recognizing a profusion of defensive talent in the tail-end of the first round, the Arizona Cardinals decide two first-rounders aren’t enough and jump back in for a third helping, trading a second-round and third-round pick to the Baltimore Ravens for pick 30.
With a DB already in tow, the Cardinals grab Texas big man Byron Murphy II, a 6’1″, 297-pound DT with exceptional quickness and energy for his size.
31) San Francisco 49ers: Tyler Guyton, OT, Oklahoma
Still licking their wounds from a Super Bowl loss, the San Francisco 49ers upgrade their offensive line and snag Oklahoma OT Tyler Guyton.
Somewhat of a developmental project with little starting experience, he’s a natural pass-blocker at 6’7″, 322 pounds, ascending the prospect rankings as of late due to his burst, fluidity, and powerful first punch.
32) Kansas City Chiefs: Kingsley Suamataia, OT, BYU
The Kansas City Chiefs have glaring needs at certain positions like WR, but the Super Bowl champs recognize that their best chance of repeat success is keeping Patrick Mahomes upright and healthy. Drafting OL is a simple way to do that.
Considering that, the Chiefs round out this 2024 NFL Mock Draft by selecting BYU OT Kingsley Suamataia, the ninth OL taken in the first round. At 6’4″, 326 pounds, Suamataia is an explosive yet fluid tackle who can play on either side.
