Avid Jets Fan Mike Greenberg Rips Aaron Rodgers’ VP Candidacy in Hilarious Rant – ‘At Some Point, You Just Have To Laugh’

Mike Greenberg didn't hesitate to blast the rumor of New York Jets' quarterback Aaron Rodgers running for Vice President.

Don’t expect a Vice President endorsement for Aaron Rodgers coming from Mike Greenberg anytime soon.

One day after the New York Jets quarterback had his name shockingly attached as a possible vice president choice for independent Presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the longtime ESPN radio personality blasted the thought of Rodgers turning to politics.

Mike Greenberg: ‘At Some Point, You Just Have To Laugh’

Rodgers’ name, as well as former pro wrestler and Governor of Minnesota Jesse “The Body” Ventura, were linked to the son of the former US President in his campaign.

Known for his verbose opinions on a variety of sports topics, the Get Up co-host didn’t take long to chuckle at the rumor involving the New York Jets quarterback.

“Look, people are asking me for a reaction to all of this…at some point, you just have to laugh,” Greenberg said.

Greenberg, a noted longtime Jets fan, once supported the move New York made in trading for the longtime Green Bay Packers passer and Super Bowl 45 winner. But now, Greenberg went into a rant mode about Rodgers as the potential Vice President.

“The New York Jets basically tore their entire franchise apart. Said we are going to build absolutely everything about one human being. And it wasn’t the wrong thing to do. It gave them a fighting chance to be something they haven’t been for a decade, which is a laughing stock,” Greenberg said.

“They built everything around this one guy. Four plays in, and down he goes. Okay, we’re going to have to wait another year. Gonna way another year. Another year goes by, and then what, he’s running for vice president? Are you kidding me?”

Greenberg wasn’t through with piling on Rodgers. He even used “fiction” in calling out the political rumors.

“Literally, I downloaded the Mad Libs app on my phone today, and I tried creating a Mad Lib crazier than this, but I can’t do it. It’s not possible. Sometimes reality is stranger than fiction,” Greenberg said.

Other Analysts Rag on Rodgers’ Vice President Rumors

Greenberg wasn’t the only analyst who ripped the thought of Rodgers donning a suit and rolling out a political agenda next to Kennedy.

The NFL Network had analysts who couldn’t help but rag on Rodgers when the rumblings sprouted.

Andrew Siciliano was one who offered this hope if the possible Kennedy/Rodgers campaign ended up winning the November 2024 election.

“As long as he’s not Surgeon General,” Siciliano joked, which is in reference to Rodgers’ controversial take on vaccine mandates during COVID-19.

Meanwhile, fellow NFL Network insiders Mike Garafolo and Ian Rapoport buried their heads or let out a laugh, respectively.
