Comedian Katt Williams Goes Viral With Shocking 40-Yard Dash Time

After appearing on Club Shay Shay where he told Shannon Sharpe he could run a 4.5 40, comedian Katt Williams went viral for his 40-yard dash video.

Katt Williams has been in the headlines recently after his interview on Shannon Sharpe’s “Club Shay Shay” went absolutely viral. Recently, Shannon Sharpe came out and said that interview alone made him more money than he ever made in a single season in the NFL.

The majority of the topics on the show didn’t involve football. However, there was one topic that did involve football. The two were talking about their speed when Williams made a claim about how fast he was.

He told Sharpe that he could run a sub-4.5-40-yard dash in shorts, which Sharpe disputed. However, on Friday, a video recorded by Florida State defensive lineman Jared Verse showed that Williams has some speed.

Williams Runs Fast Time in 40-Yard Dash

It is one thing to say it on a podcast talking with Sharpe, but Williams was able to back it up on Friday. While it wasn’t in the 4.5 range that he had said, the 52-year-old actor was able to put up a pretty good time of 4.97.

The guy who recorded the video, Verse, knows what it’s like being an elite athlete. He is highly regarded as a potential first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. He also has elite speed, where he ran a 4.59 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine.

While Williams was just participating for fun, he did post the most popular moment from the Florida State Pro Day. This video is making its way around social media right now, with many celebrities and former NFL players commenting on the athletic feat.

Former San Diego Chargers linebacker Shawn Merriman posted on social media that, “The fact that Katt Williams didn’t pull anything at this age is impressive alone.”

The 4.97 seconds for Williams is an impressive accomplishment for a non-NFL player, but where would it rank among the defensive lineman times from the 2024 NFL Combine?

There were 21 defensive linemen who ran the 40-yard dash in Indianapolis just over a week ago. Of those 21 players, the 4.97 time by Williams would be tied for the eighth-fastest time.

Critics will say that Williams didn’t run the time that he told Sharpe on his show that he would run. However, that shouldn’t take away from the 4.97 he ran today. If anything, it validates that when he was younger, he absolutely could be running in that 4.5 40-yard dash range.

Rich Eisen has made it a tradition every year to run the 40-yard dash at the Combine, starting in 2005. Could we potentially see an Eisen and Williams race in the future? That might not be in the cards, as Eisen’s fastest time he has ran was a 5.94 in 2016.

Here is a shoutout to Williams, for showing that he does have some legitimate speed.
