Prescott is excited at the potential of earning a new contract with the Cowboys ahead of the 2024 season. He’s even expecting it and is “definitely confident,” according to Nick Harris of DallasCowboys.com.
“It helps with the team and it helps with the numbers…Everything is great. It’ll happen,” Prescott said.

Travis Kelce Reveals Shocking ‘Red Flag’ for Why Cowboys Passed on Him in NFL Draft
Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce will be heading to the Hall of Fame one day. He’s a nine-time Pro Bowl selection, a four-time All-Pro, and now a three-time Super Bowl champion. Kelce has amassed 907 receptions for 11,328 receiving yards and 74 receiving touchdowns.
The former Cincinnati Bearcats TE had an opportunity to play for the Cowboys, but his interview at the 2013 NFL Scouting Combine didn’t go particularly well. He detailed the experience on his New Heights podcast, co-hosted with his brother, Jason Kelce.
“At the Combine, I had some bad interviews,” Kelce said.
“The Cowboys, they were kind of pressing me about having this red flag of missing a year.”
In 2010, at Cincinnati, Travis was suspended for the entire season after testing positive for marijuana, which was a violation of team rules. The Chiefs ended up taking him at No. 63 overall in the 2013 NFL Draft, and the rest was history.
NFL Insider Has Cowboys Taking Combine Sensation Amarius Mims in Latest Mock Draft
Dallas is looking to boost its offensive line, and there’s probably no better place to look than at Georgia, a team known for its physical play and ability to produce powerful and dynamic linemen on both sides of the ball.
One such player is Amarius Mims. The 6-foot-8, 340-pound offensive tackle was impressive at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine. Mims has 11.25-inch hands, a 36.125-inch arm length, ran a 5.07 40-yard dash, and had a 9’3 broad jump.
NFL insider Adam Caplan believes that with the potential departure of left tackle Tyron Smith in free agency, along with the need to continue to protect Prescott, selecting the 21-year-old Mims would ideal with the 24th pick of the 2024 NFL Draft.
Cowboys Pick Up Fifth-Year Option on Micah Parsons, Officially Announce His Position
The Cowboys picked up Micah Parson’s fifth-year option, but the team’s announcement of which position he plays came as a surprise.
Instead of being listed as a linebacker, Parsons is considered a defensive end. That also means that he’ll take less money in his final year of the deal.
Parsons would’ve received over $24 million had he been named a linebacker but will instead receive $21.32 million. The news was first reported by Dallas Morning News.
