Beaux Limmer’s Draft Profile | Arkansas, C Scouting Report

Arkansas center Beaux Limmer is part of a deep offensive line class in the 2024 NFL Draft. Is he a starting-caliber offensive lineman in the NFL?

The 2024 NFL Draft class boasts some incredible offensive line talent at each position, but the center class was perceived as more top-heavy than the tackle and guard classes. Arkansas Razorbacks center Beaux Limmer could potentially have changed that after his standout performance at the NFL Combine.

What is his NFL Draft outlook? Is he a starting-caliber offensive lineman? Limmer’s 2024 NFL Draft scouting report holds the answers.

A three-star recruit in the 2019 class, Limmer committed to Arkansas over Missouri, Oklahoma State, and Baylor out of high school. While he initially redshirted as a freshman, he was named a First-Year SEC Academic Honor Roll. Limmer followed that up by being named to the Fall SEC Academic Honor Roll in 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023.

Limmer didn’t start at center, playing right guard throughout his first four seasons with the Razorbacks. He earned several accolades at guard, including a Second-Team All-SEC nomination in 2022, and was named to the Rimington and Outland Trophy Watch Lists in the preseason.

He moved to center this season and handled it with aplomb, allowing just three sacks all season. Limmer did not make the All-SEC team in 2023 but turned in a successful campaign despite the results of the Razorbacks’ season.

    Weaknesses

    • Thin frame leaves him open to bull rushers.
    • Small arms likely limit him to solely the center position in the NFL.
    • Needs to improve punch aim to compensate for play strength.
    • Occasional misses on defenders at the second level.

    Current Draft Projection and Summary

Arkansas has been churning out NFL-caliber offensive linemen for the last several years, and Limmer is yet another out of their pipeline.

Limmer showcased good athleticism at the Combine, and it also pops up on film. He’s quick off the line, can easily get to his various landmarks in the run game, and picks up pass rushers smoothly. Despite just starting at center for one year, the experience Limmer built at guard shows on film with his high awareness.

He’s more of a positional blocker than a true road grader. He’ll struggle to move NFL defenders out of gaps with play strength and is at his best when he is on the move, making him more of a zone-blocking center. Ideally, he’s paired with one or two guards with good play strength who can help him on double teams and create better rushing lanes up the middle.

Limmer’s smaller frame and poor play strength likely keep him as a center-only prospect to protect him as much as possible. He’ll leave himself open to bull rushers at the next level, something even harder to deal with due to his lack of length.

There’s a starting-caliber offensive lineman in the Arkansas prospect, but Limmer has to land in an ideal situation. He’s a zone-blocking, center-only prospect and should hear his name called on Day 3 of the draft.
