The 2024 NFL Combine has passed, and there’s much to go over from the event in Indianapolis. On the latest episode of the PFN Scouting Podcast, we discuss Xavier Worthy‘s record-breaking 40-yard dash, Amarius Mims‘ standing in the OT class, and much more.
PFN Scouting Podcast: 2024 NFL Combine Recap Covers Xavier Worthy, Amarius Mims
The 2024 NFL Combine came with overwhelming anticipation from the January and February months, and it did not disappoint. We learned more about the 2024 NFL Draft class from top to bottom, including just how strong it is.
The results were astounding, particularly at wide receiver and offensive tackle. Texas’ Worthy broke the 40-yard dash record with a time of 4.21, while other highly rated wide receivers like AD Mitchell, Rome Odunze, Brian Thomas Jr., Ladd McConkey, Ricky Pearsall, and Roman Wilson tested well.
Meanwhile, at OT, Mims stood out as a chiseled 6’8″, 340-pound specimen, while other tackles like Joe Alt, Olu Fashanu, Taliese Fuaga, Troy Fautanu, Tyler Guyton, and JC Latham also distinguished themselves as first-round prospects with their testing and drill work.
Even then, we haven’t discussed quarterbacks like J.J. McCarthy, Michael Penix Jr., and Bo Nix, and how their throwing sessions reflected their stock. There’s almost too much to cover, which is why we dedicated our latest podcast episode to a full 2024 NFL Combine recap.
Tune in as fellow NFL Draft analyst A.J. Schulte and I go over the highlights of the NFL Combine, discuss the WR, OT, and QB positions in-depth, and gloss over some of our favorite performances at other positions as well.
