The wide receivers who took the field for the 2024 NFL Combine in Indianapolis lived up to the hype surrounding this position group entering the event.
Who are some of the premier pass catchers who saw their 2024 NFL Draft stock rise significantly by producing great Relative Athletic Scores (RAS) after a great performance at the NFL Combine?
Who Were the Top WR Position Performers by RAS?
Adonai Mitchell, Texas: 9.98 RAS
You would think the University of Texas wide receiver who set the all-time record for the fastest 40-yard dash time in NFL Combine history would be the player who logged the highest RAS from the event this year.
Well, unfortunately, Xavier Worthy‘s incredible record-setting performance wasn’t enough to crack the top five RAS numbers we saw from the WR position this weekend.
In fact, his Longhorn teammate, Adonai Mitchell, actually posted a phenomenal 9.98 RAS with a 4.34-second 40-yard dash, 39.5 vertical, and 11’4” broad jump at 6’2” and 205 pounds.
Mitchell may have very well solidified himself as a late first-round pick with his outstanding performance.
Brian Thomas Jr., LSU: 9.97 RAS
Speaking of solidifying Day 1 draft capital with an outstanding performance, one could certainly make the argument that LSU’s Brian Thomas Jr. was every bit as impressive as Mitchell at the 2024 NFL Combine.
The scores reflect that line of thinking, seeing that Thomas posted a 9.97 RAS, which was just one-hundredth of a point behind Mitchell’s top mark.
Running a 4.33-second 40-yard dash, logging a 10’6” broad jump, and posting a 38.5” vertical while standing at 6’3” and 209 pounds gives Thomas a great prospect profile entering the league. Most believed he would be a late first-round pick, but this exceptional performance could have him on track to be a top-20 selection come draft day.
Xavier Legette, South Carolina: 9.92 RAS
One of the most polarizing prospects entering the 2024 NFL Draft process was South Carolina’s Xavier Legette, who produced only one year’s worth of noteworthy college production in five seasons. However, many draft pundits were intrigued by his potentially elite athletic profile.
Well, his blend of size and speed mostly delivered on those high expectations with a RAS among the very best in the class. Legette possesses a rare 4.39 speed on a 6’1”, 221-pound build. His vertical (40”) and broad jump (10’6”) also spoke to his explosiveness as an athlete.
Ultimately, his performance probably wasn’t enough to boost him into the Day 1 conversation, but his elite tools and flashes of dominance should make him a great Day 2 prospect.
Rome Odunze, Washington: 9.91 RAS
First off, big props to Rome Odunze for electing to participate in the NFL Combine. Both Marvin Harrison Jr. and Malik Nabers — who are also in the conversation to be top 10 picks in this upcoming NFL Draft — elected not to take the field in Indianapolis, which was likely a business decision of sorts.

Well, Odunze flat-out handled his business on the football field and did nothing but solidify his stock as a top-three receiver in this draft. His performance across the board showcased absolutely no weaknesses, which is evident by his healthy RAS.
Sure, his 40-yard dash time wasn’t elite (4.45 seconds), but his willingness to compete against his contemporaries speaks to his competitive nature which shows up all over his tape.
