Buffalo Bills left tackle Dion Dawkins doesn’t like the New York Jets at all.
In an interview with Vlad TV, the three-time Pro Bowler out of Temple made his feelings clear regarding Buffalo’s AFC East rival.
“Weirdos being weird,” Dawkins said. “I’m going to keep it a buck, I hate them … all of them.”
Dion Dawkins Puts New York Jets Defense on Blast
Dawkins specifically highlighted Jets defensive lineman Micheal Clemons as a player he felt best characterized his feelings. Clemons and Dawkins were seen fighting following the Bills’ 32-6 victory in Buffalo on Nov. 20. Following the game, Dawkins called the Jets “disrespectful.”
It’s more than just who the defense is, though that pisses off Dawkins the most. To him, the Jets’ defense doesn’t play the game the right way — both on and off the field.
“When it comes to sports, there are people that play the sport because they love the sport, and then there are people who play the sport to try and be cool,” Dawkins explained. “I feel they try to be cool. Those are just a bunch of dudes who want to take pictures on Instagram. That’s wack.”
Not all of New York’s third-ranked defense in 2023 has drawn the ire of the 29-year-old. Dawkins highlighted Quinnen Williams as a player he “likes” despite later stating, “The rest of them? Don’t care; don’t like them.”
It didn’t take long for some on the Jets’ defense to quickly respond to Dawkins’ comments.
Jets’ Defense Responds
Two-time All-Pro cornerback Sauce Gardner quickly responded on Twitter by saying, “He gon’ say we be trynna be cool, but went on Vlad and don’t have a shirt on.”
“I play this game because I love it and it takes care of my family,” Gardner later added. “It also gives me a platform to inspire the youth. I have no ‘NFL beef’ with anybody. I didn’t know that was a thing til I just watched this video.”
New York finished 7-10 last season despite its talented defensive unit. The Jets lost future Hall-of-Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers for the season just four plays into the 2023 regular season and struggled to do much of anything on the offensive end. The finish was Gang Green’s eighth straight losing season — continuing a 13-year playoff drought that is the largest in sports.

Buffalo, on the other hand, shrugged off a late-season coaching change on offense to capture the AFC East title for the fourth straight year. Behind MVP candidate Josh Allen and a recommitment to the running game, the Bills reached the Divisional Round before bowing out to the now two-time defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs.
The rivalry between the Jets and Bills has always been a heated one despite the lack of playoff success from both sides. Now, before the offseason has even begun, a new chapter in this rivalry has opened up.
