Does anyone face off in NFL games today?
The 2023 regular season is swiftly coming to a close, with the Super Bowl less than two weeks away. But is there any other NFL football today or this week? With the Conference Championships wrapped up and the Super Bowl 58 matchup set, here’s a look at what’s going on for the NFL over the next week and a half.
NFL Games Today: Will There Be Thursday Night Football Tonight?
With just Super Bowl 58 left to play in the 2023 NFL postseason, there are no NFL games today, as Thursday Night Football will not return until the 2024 season. However, that doesn’t mean other NFL festivities won’t be happening.
With two weeks between the Conference Championships and the Super Bowl, the NFL hosts the Pro Bowl activities in the week between.

Since 2017, the NFL has included a Pro Bowl Skills Showdown the Thursday before the Pro Bowl game. A few more events will be on Sunday before the annual Pro Bowl game.
The 2024 NFL Pro Bowl Games, presented by Verizon, will air on Thursday, Feb. 1, on ESPN at 7 p.m. ET. The festivities continue on Sunday, Feb. 4, at 3 p.m. ET on ABC, ESPN, ESPN+, and NFL+.
Although the Pro Bowl doesn’t always have the best reputation, some players expressed how grateful they were for the invite.
Miami Dolphins running back Raheem Mostert discussed how important being invited to the Pro Bowl was for him this season on his Relentlessly Motivated podcast.
“I had just come back from a knee surgery and I really wasn’t confident all that much in myself,” he said. “I mean, I was confident in my abilities, but I wasn’t confident in the fact that I was still dealing with the knee injury, the knee surgery, the procedure — everything that goes with it.
“And, so, I took upon myself that I’m just going to go ahead and set these goals that are achievable, being a Pro Bowler and doing everything that I possibly can to help the team win and put numbers up on the board and score touchdowns. That was my goal last year, and I was coming into this year with that attitude.”
Bears CB Jaylon Johnson was proud to have his name called for the first time in his career.
“It is special that God has blessed me with the opportunity and favor to be selected to my first Pro Bowl,” Johnson said. “I’m thankful for all of those who have played a role in my success, because when I win, we all win.”
When Is Super Bowl 58?
If there’s no actual game this week, when is Super Bowl 58? The Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers meet in the Super Bowl for the second time in five years. After winning their respective Conference Championships, the foes get an extra week’s rest before duking it out at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada. Here’s how to watch Super Bowl 58.

“You don’t take it for granted,” Mahomes said of all his Super Bowls. “You never know how many you’re going to get to, or if you’re going to get to any. It truly is special just to do it with these guys after what we’ve been through all season long, guys coming together, it really is special. But I told them the job’s not done. Our job now is to prepare ourselves to play a good football team in the Super Bowl and try to get that ring.”
