Sunday, Feb 11: Sunday morning saw the second reported seven-figure bet made with $1 million being wagered on the 49ers -2 at Fantatics Sportsbook, per Ben Fawkes.

The highest reported bet on the Chiefs, per Fawkes is $300,000 on Chiefs +2 at BetMGM. However, Drake also stated he had placed $1.1 million on the Chiefs, but that bet has not been reported by any sportsbooks.
Wednesday, Feb. 7: Ben Fawkes reported that there was another $500,000 bet placed on the 49ers ML at odds of -125. The latest big-money bet came at DraftKings Sportsbook in Massachusetts. That now makes it $2 million in reported bets of $500,000 or more for Super Bowl 58.
Tuesday, Feb. 6: The biggest reported bet on the Chiefs came Tuesday of Super Bowl week. At FanDuel Sportsbook, a bettor placed $200,000 on the Chiefs ML at odds of +110. Much of the big money has been coming in on the 49ers, but could this be the start of that trend turning in favor of the Chiefs?
Monday, Feb. 5: On Kay Adams’ podcast, LeSean McCoy revealed he was putting $100,000 on the Chiefs to win Super Bowl 58.
“This is the same thing I’ve been telling everybody for the last three weeks…the Bills should beat the Chiefs. The Ravens should beat the Chiefs. The 9ers – all better teams, should beat the Chiefs,” McCoy started.
“But, you never bet against Tom Brady and Bill Belichick in his era, in this era, you never bet against Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes. Im’a put 100 grand on it…the last three Super Bowls I’ve hit.”
Tuesday, Jan. 30: The first reported $1 million bet on Super Bowl 58 was at Caesars Sportsbook.
A bettor placed $1 million on the San Francisco 49ers ML at odds of -120. That line presents a slight value of where the odds opened up with the 49ers initially sitting at the -130 or -135 mark in some places. However, we saw the line get as low as -115, and it looked like we might even see it reach -110 before it bounced back slightly towards a 49ers win.
Jimmy Vaccaro had previously reported that the highest bet so far for the Super Bowl was $105,000 on the 49ers to cover at -1. He also reported that the bet was paired with a $57,000 bet on the 49ers’ moneyline for a total of $162,000.
Not long after the first $1 million bet, Action Network reported that a bettor had placed $200,000 on Brock Purdy to be Super Bowl MVP. That is the biggest reported prop bet to date. There was then a reported $100,000 placed on the coin flip to land tails at Caesers.
How Much Money Is Bet on the Super Bowl?
Finding exact figures across the United States or worldwide for how much is bet on the Super Bowl is tough to do.
Last year, it was estimated that in the US alone, a total of $16 billion would be bet across various different means. This included legal sportsbooks, illegal bookmakers, and wagering between friends. However, those numbers are merely a projection and impossible to accurately quantify.

The Nevada State Gaming Control Board reported that $153,183,002 was wagered on Super Bowl 57. That was actually down from the almost $180 million that they reported for Super Bowl 56.
The first report from the Nevada State Gaming Control Board was for Super Bowl 25 when a total of $40,080,409 was wagered on the game.
Betting Trends for Super Bowl 58
There are several intriguing betting trends to consider ahead of Super Bowl 58. Many of those trends favor the Kansas City Chiefs at least covering the spread. Let’s take a look at some of the top betting trends.
- Patrick Mahomes is 10-1-1 against the spread (ATS) as an underdog.
- In either neutral-site games or on the road as underdogs, Mahomes and the Chiefs are 10-0-1 ATS.
- The Chiefs have covered in their last five games, including going 3-0 ATS in the postseason.
- Kansas City is 12-5 ATS in playoff games that Mahomes started and 13-8-1 ATS in playoff games with Andy Reid as head coach.
- San Francisco is 0-5 ATS in their last five games against teams with winning records and 0-3 ATS in their last three games.
- The 49ers haven’t covered in either of their playoff games this year. The only other team to do that and make the Super Bowl was the 2007 New England Patriots — who lost straight up to the New York Giants.
- San Francisco is 7-4 ATS in playoff games with Kyle Shanahan as head coach and 2-3 ATS in playoff games that Purdy started.
